I did not let my six years old daughter to use my Rift, but she turned out to be quite resourcefull: she made her own Rift and controller with paper and glue! I wonder if it has better FOV...

ive wanted an oculus since i first saw one on kickstarter years ago.. i bought the note 4 and gear vr "which wasn't easy in canada at the time"and I've been impatiently waiting for the rift to release. but when i found out the price was $600 American and i need a pc that costs over $1000 for a combined price of over $2000 cdn after taxes shipping and international fees, i lost all faith in oculus. i hate that i feel this way about a product ive been promoting to anyone who'd listen, but the bottom line is it is way to expensive for a product that will be obsolete in a year! if you don't agree then look at the note 4, even if it is considered a developer kit it still reflects exactly what will happen to all vr headsets, they are in their infancy, they are all so far from perfected and because of that every few months a new breakthrough will be made and the technology behind it will look like an a track in comparison.. if by some miracle anyone at oculus sees this post; you NEED

Today I turn 44, and I can't help but reflect on how much things have changed in the last couple decades. When I was 22, I was at University, playing DOOM, and just getting involved in ray-traced rendering, using a text-based(!) modelling/rendering software called POV-ray.Today, I'm playing DOOM 2016 with amazingly realistic real-time graphics, and messing around with VR! I've been searching the web and trying to find a good comparison purely on noise between latest version coolers from the different manufacturers, but haven't been able to find anything. When I go to most forums it's a religious war without any real facts. So please make a vote and if you have any facts for your vote, please be so kind as to throw a link in the comments.By the way, my personal preference is MSI from past experience, but I have no experience with either ASUS or EVGA. In my country the prices are as noted... if MSI was the cheapest I wouldn't even be asking, as I find their previous generations dead silent. But it's a lot of extra money if the others are just as good.

I have an idea and I am surprised that is not used in VR.if I play a simple game and I want to look around freely and use the keys and mouse - I can not see them .Camera on the helmet and appropriate software allowing to you to set the view of what we have before us will be grat.Virtual cockpit - Some people have all the cockpits recreated - but can not see them ( see button or throttle ) must act blindly.Even if wee paint its green ( joystick , mouse , etc. ) to make it as a reversal of a green screen  . To see in VR  what is real in front of you and  i needed to play. Maby a lot of people they prefer to sit comfortably in your VR to see a desk and looking at ease in the game world. I know that the issue of power is important to use VR - but placing the camera (s ) would be a good option for the future as computers and software allow such a solution.I'm sorry for the mistakes in writing . What CPU will work best with my Nvidia GeForce GTX 980. Haswell or Skylake? Keep in mind I just blew a month's worth of pay on my current setup plus the Rift so I'm not looking to spend too much.Right now I'm running an i5-2400. The cheapest of the i5's. Not sure if it's bottlenecking or not but I still want something at least Haswell to complement the GPU and use it's full potential. Is it worth the $200+ upgrading or will I not even notice the difference?

So one of my best friends Cola is in the U.S. Navy and on his last deployment to sea he took this picture:I think it's just a really super awesome picture for a few reasons. For one, it's really pretty. For two, it's not contrived. He's not a photographer and he didn't like try to set up this shot. He had seen a whale and was trying to take a picture of it with his phone camera. He took 3 shots and never got the whale, but instead got this really epic sunset. I think it's just really awesome because it's so pretty and not contrived. This image should be somewhere on the Pacific ocean btw.

This isn't a hardware forum, but i guess a good portion in here know a bit about trouble shooting a computer, maybe you could give me some advice. My PC has issues on start up and many times it just starts up blank, the screen just stays black. It's usually after exiting the bios. Which i also find strange that it goes straight the bios on start up most of the time, but not every time. Sometimes it just goes to a blinking blinking text cursor/underscore When i play a youtube video the screen goes black shortly and it happens when i enlarge the screen also, and some random instances also. After being woken from hibernation i've had to turn of the computer by holding the power button twice now. A few times i've had visual artifacts when on windows 10 logo screen on start up, in the form of blue lines with the same couler as the windows logo across the black part.Also it starts up in inconsistent speeds and some time never shows the windows logo, but goes straght from black to login scree
