The Public Test Channel (PTC) Quest v72 is starting to roll out for Meta Quest 2. The issues that some users encountered with the previous update have been resolved with this build.

Check to see if your headsets updates to: 5127210.11250.150 or higher. You can head here to learn how to check for software updates.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v72:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v72" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v72 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

DwightMc25 What's up with you guys (and girls of course) at Meta Support & Development?
Even many Q3 don't get the retail v72... why?

Communication to/with your customers getting worse and worser over time.
And even development seems to get worse now 😞

Nice update overall but the problem is with the horizon app update yesterday has affect several people as now we can’t even loed into the app as it keep chrashing and this is not just me this is all over the world like meta what is happening right now

cwipzzy I have noticed whenever the Meta Horizon app got an update, it's best to uninstall and reinstall it. I was having issues of applications showing unavailable, after I reinstall the app everything started to work perfectly fine.

V72 still disables the ability to enable hand tracking  when setting up the headset without controllers.

On previous versions of the software you could start the headset setup process, launch the browser from the mobile app, go into the settings using the head cursor and from there enable dev mode, hand tracking and change other settings.

Now if you try to operate the hand tracking enable slider, you get bounced back into the bubble setup environment and have to sleep/unsleep the headset to get back to the browser window.

meta is all about making money from the game sales. There are now more quest 2 headsets than sets of controllers. Why not have hand tracking automatically enabled by default so that these controller-less headsets don't become e-waste.?

#make money / save the planet!

An update to the non-PTC v72 installed on my headset Jan 23, 2025.

I noticed a change to the UI. No longer can you close apps by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner but now you have to open the menu under the app window and click the "X" there. Adding an extra-step to the process is taking to steps back for each step forward.

The same goes for the power off screen/menu.

my quest 2 is not letting me login every time i put the code on the screen in its saying wrong code, then when it did go through and ask me to put in my email it's telling me no account with the email. my quest headset is saying something about December 27th I did the update by connecting to my computer and after 10 mins it was done and i'm still having the same problem. $300 down the drain for buying the quest 2 i'm very upset right now.

    Hey,

I have the latest headset update and I see that I don't have an option to disable the public test channel now. This is something I need to do in order to connect to the game onward servers. At least I'm told. What do you suggest I can do? Thanks
