v.77 PTC Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v77 started to roll out today for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v77:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v77" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v77 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

      To the people having problems with Meta Quest Link taking a while to open and then not being able to use both Link and Airlink, here is a nice workaround that may work for you, as it does for me :

      On a fresh boot, just simply go to Task manager and close all processes having to do with Meta or Oculus services. Then start Meta Quest Link and watch it work again as normal.

      This must be repeated after each reboot, but it's way faster than doing the whole repair routine that also worked.

        v77 is terrible. I have image and sound stutter for last two weeks using VD. Never happens before. Now happens every few minutes for 1-10 seconds.

        Unimaginable how Meta support ignore this thread and still not announced when fix would be.

          The issue of passthrough pausing the background audio of the app still occurs on v77 with my Quest Pro, much like the previous v76. I hope this is fixed soon as taking a glance at the real world while still hearing what's going on around me in-game was extremely useful.

            Can anyone tell me apart from Horizon Worlds being renamed to Worlds (and unable to uninstall now!) and some rubbish to do with Ad ID (this was all in V76) what is changed in V77 as far as I can see nothing apart from the selfie camera thing that sort of showed up in v76 for a while has now been removed.?  WHAT HAS CHANGED and i've search the web high and low and all you see is data mined rumours..?? Oh is this thread dead as people are just fed up with not knowing ??

              Moriarti4 I think V77 was supposed to fix some stuff, but it just broke more stuff, so nothing's really changed.

                My WiFi is deleted and can’t sign back in on it it’s given me more information other than just saying “Password” 

                what can I do now?

                if anyone else experiencing this let me know.

                I had two mini updates to V77 PTC and now have the new navigator menu, which at best is just meh. It just seems like change for no reason or improvement.

                I also have a pending update which would update the headset to what it's already on?????
