The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Horizon OS v2.4 has started to roll out.

Release Notes:  https://www.meta.com/help/quest/172903867975450/

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating:

1) For issues: Go to our Quest Forums and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v2.4" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for PTC issues.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

I keep checking for PTC builds but i've never gotten one although i'm enrolled. Am I doing something wrong?

When I do a factory reset, complete the out-of-the-box setup guide, then toggle PTC to On in the mobile app, it seems to always start downloading the PTC build almost immediately.

Hopefully that's a viable option for you.  Those steps have been pretty reliable for me for the past few PTC rollouts.

Change your user privacy back to normal. It messed up my ZARCHIVER. Now I can’t add custom sounds and hitmarkers to BONELAB.

tiredness0k You are on PTC software. Stop complaining when you see bugs. The purpose of PTC is to use your headset and others to find bugs. So instead of complaining here, make your report through the bug reporting tool on the headset. That is what it is there for. If you want a stable experience why did you join PTC? Leave the program so that next time you won't have to complain. For now, you can try factory resetting and it might bring you back to the stable v2.3 version, though it's not guaranteed. Also please, stop shouting on the forum as you did with a previous comment that is deleted. We are all only users here, no Meta employees. Show respect for other users. Thank you.

This might sound like a really silly question but why is meta still adding features like the hand movement controls when they are shutting down Horizon worlds the only place that you can use them..?? Seems like a massive waste of time that could be better off spent getting the OS running smoother..??

Anyone know if 2.4 fixes the playspace boundary resetting every time you take off the headset?

Also, anyone know if the UI is any less laggy? On Quest Pro as of 2.3, the new UI is a disaster, it's so awful and slow to use

    Hi

Thanks for hand tracking movement update. As I only have a quest 3 without controllers I rely on hand tracking to use quest.

Now that teleport works with hand tracking could you allow this to work with other apps especially want to try the hyperscape app.

Currently requires controllers to open.  With the teleport hand tracking could move around the hyperscape worlds just like home environment.

    Thanks

Wouldn't help you at all if they did. Currently, the app doesn't work.... even if you have controllers.

I get a "worlds has ended - close app" - pop up, or I simply get kicked back to the loft when trying to view a room.🤷‍♀️

In the announcement Meta said that viewing would still work after worlds ended, just share and invite won't work anymore. They still say this in a post from the link below...... but at least for now, it does not.

Did Meta "quiet kill" Hyperscape Capture?

    Maybe/hopefully this is just temporary.

PTC 2.4.1034 broke device. Quest 3 restarting itself every few minutes. No matter if in sleep/charge mode. Hang and restarting in PCVR/VR withing 3-4 minutes.

At least is not bricked, but half bricked (till next update)

I guess I've gotten 3 or more 2.4 updates but I don't know what changes.  No navigator as yet. Mostly all is well.  Quest 3.

Release (non-PTC) v2.4 just rolled out on my Quest 2.

Where's the clock/time of day? It used to be on top of the Library in Navigator, along side with the battery level indicator. Both are gone. If you click on Quick Settings and then the Settings Gear Icon it shows the battery level and the Date and Day of Week but no Time of Day.

Searched everywhere in Navigator - no Clock/Time of Day anywhere.

How does something like this get released out of PTC to live?

At least it's there on Quest Games Optimizers Launcher which I use over Navigator.

Navigator is pretty but the UX is terrible.

    NomadsAnIsland

I've the same issue on Q3 v2.4, the times vanishes sometimes.

Restart the headset, then the time is back to the place where it used to be, but......after  opening an app, then closing it and opening another app, the time will  vanish again. Restart of the Quest or put it to sleep/wake it up, brings the time back.🤪

Report the bug from the headset.

Got an update for my Quest 3 (Retail-Channel)... 2.4.1034 (build 5216847.4070.520).
The new UI comes with it, finally - also the option to remove apps from library.
(which was announced many, many months/releases before!)

Only the desktop app (Meta Link) stays at v85 and is unusable in this state.
Steam Link on the other hand works like a carm ;)

Buetigame  you could enable PTC in the link app....it'll bring you to v201...... maybe this helps?

Choleni I've tried that and there is a new service now: Highwind (build 201.0.0.211.547).
Obviously they they are reprogramming (Air)Link from scratch up, which could be a good one!
Yesterday I've played EXD for hours, finally - but sadly the wifi problems persists with 201...

Sometimes the WiFi-Throughput crashes from 200MBit to 10 or 20MBit and slowly comes back to normal, you can see that with the ODT-PerformanceMonitor and in this state it stutters hefty, but intrestingly without the effect of motion sickness. After that you can play for 10 or 15min (maybe a little longer) without, but then...again. Hopefully they'll fix this also, but the stability is great and quality is better than SteamLink with this one!

I'll keep this PTC for the app (not for the Quest firmwares!), it's better than nothing.
