I'm a newbie in vr and mixed reality development and I'm trying to create a game in unreal engine. I encountered an issue that if I grab an item and go through e.g. a virtual table with collision mesh. It doesn't react to this at all.I figured that the interaction sdk is turning the physics off in their ISDKGrabTransformerComponent, but I changed that and it still goes through, but with a bit of stuttering and teleporting. I think that's the problem with the implementation, because it snaps the grabbed objects to my hand position and I totally understand it.My question is: is there a way to bypass it, maybe some kind of thing that if I collide with object while grabbing another item it gets the position and it stays there until I don't end overlapping with it? But still I'm not sure how to implement this. If there is some kind of tutorial or anything let me know I need it for my school project.

Hello. Meta XR Audio plugin for Unreal Engine 5.6 (v83) also as other versions stores metaxraudio64.dll in Plugins\MetaXRAudio\Binaries\Win64It is not an "Unreal way" to store DLLs and also heaving binaries folder for compiled DLLs in repo can deal some troubles with project cleanup and build/compile/cicd etc.It is much better to not have binaries folder in repo and all precompiled libraries should be in plugin folder.I did not found any github repo to make PR for changes i would like you to review.Base idea is to remove Plugins\MetaXRAudio\Binaries\Win64\metaxraudio64.dll and move it to something like Plugins\MetaXRAudio\Source\ThirdParty\MetaXRAudio\Win64 and make it to be copied at build time to Plugins\MetaXRAudio\Binaries\Win64 using built-in UE tools. You can add dedicated module to copy this dll or at least make a small fix in Plugins\MetaXRAudio\Source\MetaXRAudio\MetaXRAudio.Build.csLine 64 - replace original code: if (CurrentPlatform == UnrealTargetPlatform.Win64)

I have a Q3, Unity6, using the Building blocks for Camera Rig, PassThru, MRUK, Raycast Viz, PassThru Camera Access, hands... and some cubes and things.  And I did the "don't show guardian" thing in the Manifest...When I run the app, it is fine... until I move my head somewhere... then I am surrounded by a gray blob that blocks everything (including passthru; cannot see the scene nor can you see the passthru).  Hands do continue to work (palm up meta key) even though you can't see them [you do see the meta glyph].Sometimes it happens when I leave a room, other times I have no idea what or why it's there... but since it blocks everything... it quickly becomes dangerous because I can no longer see my surroundings.  If I keep pushing... eventually, I get to the other side, but... no idea what it is, why it is, or even where it is (not visible in scene; doesn't belong to any of my gameobjects [cubes or dragon]).When seated, it's usually X=0,Y=.4-.6, Z is eye level (as in, if

I am about ready to publish my world using Worlds Desktop Editor but I want to test my world in VR first. The "Switch to VR" button in the desktop editor doesn't seem to do anything. I can see the world when I'm in my Meta Quest, but when I try to preview it, it's just an empty void with nothing in it. I suspect none of the assets are loading for some reason. The headset editor appears to be deprecated now. There must be a way to test it with my headset before publishing, how can I do this? Maybe I just don't know how to use the "Switch to VR" button. (I've connected my headset to my desktop as well with no luck...)

Hello everyone,I'm developing a native Android application (integrated with Unreal Engine) for the Meta Quest 3. My goal is to programmatically capture a still image from the passthrough camera using the standard Android Camera2 API.First, I want to emphasize that the standard, system-level Passthrough feature works perfectly in the headset. To be clear, I already have Passthrough enabled and working correctly inside my Unreal app. I can see the live camera feed, which confirms the basic functionality is there. My issue is specifically with capturing a still image programmatically. While my code executes without errors and saves a file, the resulting image is always completely black.I'm aware that this was a known limitation on older OS versions. However, I was under the impression this was resolved starting with software v67, based on the official documentation here:https://developers.meta.com/horizon/documentation/native/android/pca-native-documentationGiven that my headset is on a mu

Hi, I have been developing in Meta Horizon since 2020 and have learned UnityXR/MR.  I will graduate with a masters degree in Art and Technology in May 2026. For my final project I will be working on a Mixed Reality interaction for dyslexic learners with hand tracking. I will be applying for the smart glasses grant for accessibility.  I've been in education for the past 19 years, teaching students with dyslexia for the past ten years. This video shows my first test.  Link and image below.Mixed Reality Test, Quest 3: Mixed Reality Test, Unity and Meta SDK by Tina Wheeler

In the publicly available samples for camera access in the Meta Wearable Device Toolkit, only capturing images during streaming is supported, and the resolution is limited to 1440x1080px. Does this mean developers cannot access full‑resolution still photo capture functionality?

Hello Meta XR / OpenXR Runtime Team,I’m developing a Quest 3 OpenXR 8K video player using Vulkan. It uses MediaCodec to decode video frames directly into a runtime-owned Android Surface swapchain (XR_KHR_android_surface_swapchain) in a zero-copy pipeline. This works well for playback, but it prevents the application from running any GPU processing on the decoded frames (e.g., sharpening, denoise, chroma upsampling, lightweight super-resolution) before the runtime compositor samples the surface for an XrCompositionLayerEquirect2KHR layer.Feature request:I’d like to request an official, supported way for applications to access the decoded frame content on the GPU (Vulkan) prior to composition, while retaining the benefits of the Android Surface swapchain decode path. The current copy/blit workaround is not acceptable because it adds significant memory bandwidth overhead and defeats the purpose of the zero-copy pipeline.Sincerely,Zurab Kargareteli - Graphics EngineerVrex Immersivezurabkar

I'm using the voice SDK and the AppDictationExperience script for speech to text, however I also want to use Photon Voice for voice chat.Since only one thing can be reading from the mic at a time, and since I don't see any way to give AppDictationExperience audio directly; I want to read the audio from AppDictationExperience and send it to PhotonVoice. How would I do this? I can give Photon Voice an audio clip but I don't know how to get the audio from AppDictationExperience. I was also wondering if there is a better approach to having both Photon Voice and AppDictationExperience work?

Hi,I am using the Meta Spatial SDK to interact with Webviews and UIs within curved panels. While the cursor is correctly rendered by the IsdkDefaultCursorSystem, UI and web interactions do not intersect correctly leading to not being able to interact with curved panels since the HitInfo.textureCoordinate does not take in account the curvature of the panel clamping values erroneously. How to test and validate the issue:Use the AnimationsSample of the Meta SDK Samples,  place UI buttons on corners of the main panel, switch to a curve panel and try to use the buttons. Expected behaviour:Independently of  the curved panel curvature, reachable buttons should be usable when the cursor overlays it.Current behaviour:UI elements are non interactable when the curvature of the panels differs from flatness significantly.Source of the problemPointerEvent.HitInfo.textureCoordinate provided by the IsdkSystemNative.tick function are incorrect leading to misbehaviour for any subcomponent t

I decided to try out OVROverlayCanvas with a small test, and sure enough, it turned my fuzzy UI into crisp, perfect quality UI. So I made the necessary changes across the entirety of my project. Things were looking great in the build. Then, for no apparent reason, every instance of OVROverlayCanvas across multiple scenes broke. They went from looking like this:…to looking like this while running in a build:Between when it was working and when it failed, the scene from which I've taken the above screenshots, has had no changes at all. Any suggestions? I’m working in Unity 6.3.1f1 with Meta XR SDKs v 83.0.1, OpenXR Plugin v.1.16.1

Script 'CharacterController' has the same name as built-in Unity component.AddComponent and GetComponent will not work with this script. I've been using unity, meta hello world example and have come across this issue and I can't find a solution for it.Is there an easy solution, can I just rename the script? I tried that but it seems to open another can of worms. Why would meta name a script with a name reserved by unity if it just causes problems? Thanks for any help.

Hey everyone! This is a friendly reminder that starting March 1, 2026, all new binary uploads for new or existing Meta Horizon apps must target Android 14 (API level 34). What this means for you: Set your targetSdkVersion to API level 34 Your minSdkVersion can remain at API level 32 Existing published apps will continue to work without changes New binary uploads after March 1 will require the updated targetSdkVersion Why we're making this change: This requirement allows us to take advantage of security improvements in the newer API and improve the health of our platform.   What’s next: We recommend updating your projects now to ensure a smooth upload process after the deadline (March 1). Step-by-step instructions on how to update your API version can be found here. You can also update your API version automatically if you use the Project Setup Tool in Unity or Unreal with the Meta XR SDKs. For more information, read the full announcement here. Thank you for building for

Hey there allI still somewhat new within the meta quest game dev so I been following some of the documenations from the Meta site to use their SDK within Unity, however I been stuck on the "Build a custom hand pose" tutorial where it uses a outdated OVRCameraRig where it still has LeftHand and HandFeaturesLeft within the OVRHands which is not with the v83 of the SDK. Any help of how to do this now would be very appreicated! This is the link I been using https://developers.meta.com/horizon/documentation/unity/unity-isdk-building-hand-pose-recognizer/

Hi there,We are developing an application using the Spatial SDK and we haven't found any documentation about creating / saving / restoring anchors. Is this feature not available in this SDK ? Thanks & cheers

Hey guys, The SDK has sections like this:#if UNITY_EDITOR_WIN***#elif UNITY_EDITOR_OSX***#endif(this is in installer.cs)And in 2 places in OVRPlugin #if OVRPLUGIN_UNSUPPORTED_PLATFORMreturn false;where it should be something like#if OVRPLUGIN_UNSUPPORTED_PLATFORMhapticsProperties = new HapticsParametricProperties();return false;I'm using Linux, and while I understand that you don't want to support linux, this is just lazy and inconsiderate, because I can't just "hack" this once the SDK is going to keep over writing my changes, can you be more considerate for us Linux users please.

Hi, I have an innovative gaming idea where a WhatsApp chat can transform into a game. With a 'Start Game' button, the chat interface turns into a game interface, making the user’s conversation the game itself. Could I submit the detailed concept on your platform?" Feel free to tweak it as you like!

I'm an educator teaching Unity & XR development using Quest 3 and Meta Building Blocks. But I have been really struggling because of the difference in learning materials online (from Unity's end, and from content creators online from even just 3 months ago, let alone 1 year). The most current / pressing issue in my class is the lack of updated documentation and examples using the new standalone version of the Meta XR Simulator. Half the documents in the official Meta XR Simulator Overview documentation are from 2024 and use the old interface (which had WAY more features and customization options). I have a bunch of students relying on mouse and keyboard controls trying to test behaviors like the locomotion building block, but they don't work.Current issues I would love suggestions or hints on how to solve (from just importing Building Blocks into a Unity Core 3D scene, nothing customized yet):I have duplicate controller models and ghosting (only in the simulator, visible when moving

Can't find any info in the documentation, and have tried adjusting all values in the Poke Interactable class. I want to change the default distance / threshold of 1cm before it triggers the Select event to something like 4mm.Does anyone know how to change this?I'm using the PokeInteractable prefab as a base in the Meta XR Interaction SDK Essentials (v77, so a bit old, but cant see anything in the changelog that says this have been changed)

Hey!I have the problem, that I wanted to open a ticket through my dashboard: Team -> contact us. Then it says go to your team and contact us for developer support.Mh.I have a Problem with my texture. I can upload it (checked its correct) with Material "Image_Masked" Picture is Image_BA and the FBX. It always says "Did not find a Material to be use with Image_BA.png Texture". I uploaded the texture again through edit. Now its showing a preview but still the error. This happens when I try to upload my asset through the Dashboart under assets. (Macintosh).I tried it trough the editor on my gaming pc windows laptop, this worked!!! After hours.I would love to open a ticket, but as I mentioned its saying I need to do it from my dashboard what I did... I cant submit any ticket.VanessaPS: Sorry I couldnt even uncheck the tag store here.

I've rigged, animated, and imported avatars into my Unity project and scene as prefabs.I've created new materials for them with the same shader as my player avatar utilizes when he loads in - Avatar/Style2Meta. When playing the project on my laptop, I can see my Avatar NPCs with those materials fine. As soon as I build and run the project on my Meta Quest 2, they become invisible.I really like the shader, so I wanna keep it and not compromise for using two different materials for player and NPC avatars. Why does it happen only when playing on the headset, and how do I fix it?

Hi there,I'm currently looking at examples in the Meta XR Movement SDK (Running the MovementBody scene), and I cannot get body tracking to successfully initialise. I get the following warning which I presume is the source of the issues. I get the same warning running the advanced examples in the SDK example scenes:[OVRBody] Failed to start body tracking with joint set FullBody.UnityEngine.Debug:LogWarning (object)OVRBody:StartBodyTracking () (at ./Library/PackageCache/com.meta.xr.sdk.core@e6e7a2c46b82/Scripts/Movement/OVRBody.cs:161)OVRBody:OnEnable () (at ./Library/PackageCache/com.meta.xr.sdk.core@e6e7a2c46b82/Scripts/Movement/OVRBody.cs:130)____________________________________________________________________________I get a different warning running when looking at the Meta Xr Interaction SDK Example Scenes (BodyPoseDetectionExamples). I'll say that I've tried the configuration for just upper body also:Global joint set is invalid. Ensure that there is an OVRBody instance that is acti

Hello, I am new to creation. I am wondering if there is a way to create a color changing shirt that, when purchased through the horizon store, is wearable in any world, not just mine.Any assistance with this vision is greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

I would like to be able to see my hands in the X-Plane 12 simulation software, unfortunately OpenXR is not supported for the Quest 3.X-Plane 12 does not natively support hand or finger tracking for the Quest 3 at this time.Any update here is welcome
