No Sound, Quest 3, Link, 9.11.25

Problem: No sound via Link (cable or AirLink) on Quest 3

For the past few days, I haven’t had any sound when using Link — neither with the cable nor AirLink — in the Dash or in games.
It has worked perfectly for several years until now.

When I use the Quest 3 standalone, everything works perfectly, so it’s definitely not a hardware issue.

I’ve already tried everything:

  • Settings in Meta Horizon Link
  • Windows 11 sound settings
  • Nvidia drivers and software

Despite all that, the problem remains: no sound via Link on the Quest 3.

I’d really appreciate any help or suggestions.

    Hi Han._.69,

Thanks for reaching out about this issue you're having with the sound on your Quest 3.

We understand you've already checked the settings and updated drivers and software. Next, check the audio input and output sources both for your headset and on your PC.

To check the audio input and output for your Meta Quest:

    • Open Meta Quest Link on your computer.
    • Click Devices in the left-hand side menu and then select your device.
    • Toggle on Hear computer audio in VR.
    • Toggle on Hear audio from computer.

To check the audio input and output for your PC:

    • Click the Speaker icon  in the task bar in the bottom-right part of your screen.
    • Click the ^ arrow to open a list of audio devices connected to your computer.
    • Check that your audio and mic are both set to Oculus Virtual Audio Device.

Once that's done, please restart both your headset and computer.

If there's still no sound after restarting, please let us know by sending us a private message:

MetaStoreHelp I fixed the problem of no PCVR sound in Meta Quest Link (v83.0.0.269.349 official release) by running the Windows 11 "Modify" option for the "Oculus" app in the "Installed apps" screen.

I then selected "Repair" in the installer menu that popped up.

The repair downgraded Link to v81. After the repair, Link updated itself back to v83.0.0.269.349. That fixed the problem 👍.
