'Continue in Your Browser' - App login

I am trying to log in to the Oculus App on my PC, I have plugged in my headset, I clicked  'Continue with Facebook', then the next screen tells me to:
 'Continue in Your Browser.  To confirm your Facebook login, please switch to your default web browser now.  The confirmation process may take a few seconds to complete'.
I have opened every web browser on my computer, logged into my facebook account on each browser, turned firewalls off, and nothing happens / no confirmation occurs.  And the 'Help Centre' button at the bottom of the screen doesn't link to anything either.

Any idea what I should try next?

For anyone still having this issue;

Press Win+R, then type/paste the following: https://www.google.com

Then press Enter, this will/should pop-up asking you to set a default browser. Select which one you want [Chrome, Edge, Opera, ETC].

Once done, restart the oculus app and it should work a treat.

Still don't know why this hasn't been fixed tbh, I was pulling my hair out going from forum to forum looking for a Solution also...

Try to install the Oculus/Meta app on your phone, now try to log in and see if that does not open a browser on your phone.

I have the same problem.  Chrome incognito mode doesn't always work either.  Rebooting sometimes works, and somebody else suggested running Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusVRCValidator.exe which just now worked for me.

I was having this issue on windows 11. I solved it by hitting win+R and typing https://www.google.com in the address bar. That took me to a window to choose my default app, I selected chrome and picked "Always". Credit to reddit for this solution!

Thanks, paulemanuelbowes412.  Setting google as default does help, as does running oculus and chrome in admin mode, and it finally did let me log in.  Now, if I could just get past that "Your graphics card is incompatible with Rift software" roadblock.....

Yeah, that's the problem I had.  Nothing happened when I pressed [Continue in Browser].    It's supposed to open Chrome for you and you can't see the link address til it opens up.  As above, we tried making Chrome the default browser and running Oculus as admin mode and it finally worked.   (Somebody else suggested running Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusVRCValidator.exe and it did work for me after that but I don't know if that's why or not.  )  You might have to grant Oculus permission to open Chrome and Chrome permission to open Oculus if a popup asks you for permission.  Even with that, sometimes it just takes a long time to react.  But once it does let you log in, you don't have to keep doing that whenever you run Oculus in the future.

I Had to use different approach... - uninstall in safe mode, start installation of software as Admin , choose localization as english US, after isnatllation of PC software ended do not go forward! restart PC - you will se for a second that software clearing data, after restart turn on software and go login via facebook or any other account, if using incognito mode this didnt work out needed to turn off incognito in chrome/firefox(on firefox didnt pass the activation - on chrome did. didnt turn off any firewalls the main thing was to restard software after installation to allow it to clean data.

I also have this problem why is this still not solved

I figured this out.  My problem was that even though I had set my browser (I use Edge) as the default, it actually wasn’t handling http and https requests automatically. So, I saved an HTML file to my desktop and then when I double-clicked on it, I got a popup asking me how I wanted to handle html files. I chose Edge and “Always” and this established that association. Then, I ran the Meta software again and this time, the app caused my browser to pop up and let me log in.
