Solved

My setup keeps asking for a business account email and I'm not a business

Strange thing with my Oculus Quest 2 setup.  The setup goes directly to requesting business information and will shut down when I select decline.   Since I am not a business it doesn't make sense why this information is being requested.  Can someone explain please what I should do?

THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION - MARKING FOR VISABILITY

Hey guys! This thread has been going on for a while, and a lot of new faces seem to have joined in. Because of that, I want to reiterate the marked solution that the previous mod mentioned, as the workaround seems to have helped users dealing with this issue.

@TheAntiSocializer

Hey everyone! Thanks for reaching back out to us on this issue. We've gotten this flagged with our internal team for them to further review.

If you've purchased the device from an unauthorized 3rd party (neighbor/friend/second hand shop), I do recommend reaching back out to them for further assistance since the device could be tied to Meta Quest for Business.

If your headset has been in use for some time and you're just now running into this issue, please feel free to post your experience here in the thread.

In addition, there is a workaround the community is trying out:

  • Try another browser or make sure your signed  into Facebook account on that browser before you start

If this does not work please submit a ticket with support using this following link!

If you've tried the workaround mentioned above and are still having trouble, please send a private message to MetaStoreHelp or submit a ticket with the link provided. Hope this helps!

PLEASE HELP!  How do I reset the headsets so I can use meta.com.  The six headsets where purchased from an authorized vendor and as a consumer (NOT business version).  There working with out issues for years until META made some sort of change to force them on work.meta.com.  HOW DO I RESET THE HEADSETS TO USE META.COM.  i have used all of the prior mentioned solutions.  I do not have a work email or created an organization on work.meta.com.

Finally found fix for this work email address thing . Drove me bloody mad . When headsets asks you to type meta.com/device into a device don’t use your phone use pC or laptop . If you don’t have one try another browser on your phone . I still had bit of problem adding one of my additional accounts but found it worked better buy using the Facebook log in on my laptop rather than the email address option . You have to be logged into your Facebook account though before you start the process with the account your pairing to headset .

My Oculus 2, which I bought from Amazon about 3 years ago and which has worked well until recently, is doing exactly the same thing.VERY frustrating.

Thinks it’s out of order to blame the hardware , not fair on seller or buyer especially as meta knows it happening to old headsets as well as new !

Meta Fixed my headsets by pushing out a software update.  I had to factory reset and once the update was downloaded, I was able to use the headsets.

Nice , I knew it wasn’t hardware issue

This did not work for me.  I had to pester Meta for a month before they sent my headsets an update which fixed the issues.  If the commercial grade headset is stuck on work.meta.com, Meta needs to push an update to remove the work.meta.com.

Hi andygoat.2024, we see you're having an issue with your headset asking for a business account email. We definitely understand your frustration here, as other customers have brought up the same situation.

If you've been able to check out the fixes provided by some of our other members such as Girodog  and @ladybug1075.2023, please let us know if they worked for you!

We like to stay on top of the troubleshooting that works on different devices.

We can also suggest that you try a hard reboot of your headset to remove the business account message on your screen.

Here are the steps:

1. Make sure your headset battery is not low

2. Remove any unsupported 3rd-party accessories that may affect the reboot (external battery packs, accessories that plug into the USB-C port, etc.)
3. Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound

4. Check to see if the business account message has disappeared

If you need any further help, please don't hesitate to send us a PM!

I had this problem, persistently, and the solution is the Meta Horizon App, you need to have that in your phone, be logged in and pair your device with that. I have an Oculus Quest 2 and it was working fine since the beginning, but then, I didnt use it for a long time, when I turned it on again, I already had deleted the app from my phone and this 'organization email' problem occurred. Then I noticed the setup was asking me specifically to 'pair device with Meta horizon app' which is a new name for the former 'oculus' app, and when I did that, logged in to the app and all, the device paired and worked again like the first day. I assume that if you dont have a propper account setup already as an individual, the oculus would assume that the device would be used for business purposes, thats my two cents, thats how I fixed the issue on my side.

So i'm having the same problem It's saying, (It looks like there isn’t an account associated with @gmail.com. Make sure you use an account given to you by your organization (for example, your university or the company you work for). which It is the same gmail i use.
