Quest 3 stuck in Battery Saver Mode

So I toggled the battery saver mode 3 days ago and ofc it lowered resolution. I wanted to test the feature. So I toggled it on, saw the change, and then toggled it off. When I turned it off, the resolution stayed the same, the fovetated size stayed the same. Everything was the same as if I was still on battery saver mode (with full charge on the headset).

I ignored this issue until today as I cannot deal with it anymore. I restarted the device, resolution is still low, text is pixelated, FOV is terrible, everything warped. The headset thinks I'm in battery saver mode still. Tried toggling it on and off and there is literally no change when turning it on, and of course no change when going back to off.

Please help.

It would be helpful to get more information from META with what exactly has been determined, what still needs to be determined, so this thread can be reigned in and potentially resolved? Does META have anything new to update us with on the status of this issue?

This Issue seems to still be ongoing for me, just bought the quest 3 yesterday, and I went into battery saver mode. When I tried to turn it off, the low resolution stayed there, now the only thing that happens when switching on and off battery save mode is that the screen brightness dims a bit and that's it.

Somebody at meta needs to see this and actually do something.

Do the moderators have any news on this. The last thing we were told it’s an actual bug and nothing since

Hi Alice

I have been going back and forth with support for months. I am on my third headset.

I recently bought new lightbulbs which took away the graininess on the pass through but it still has a below standard definition image on the pass though and awful dull colours.

i have also tried all the relevant settings, contrast, brightness and colour correction settings, as well as countless factory resets.

I seriously doubt they can say anything else without a random number of returne until I get one that finally works.

Meta need to release a statement on this because it’s not fair for people who have paid. Over 400 dollars for a product which has an incomplete operating system.

+1 with this issue

How is this taking so long to solve?

If Meta couldn't fix the bug yet, at least push an urgent security update removing that option so that no more new users can be affected by this for the time being.

dinkd Does the issue show up in screenshots? If so, can you share some with us. I pretty confident I'm affected by this issue (I toggle Battery Saver Mode on and off and see no difference, so I assume it must be constantly on low res), but I'd like to know for certain.

I’m on my third replacement and the pictures taken by the camera are better than looking through the pass through

Did you get a replacement through warranty/support, or did you just return it? (7 day return period or something, not sure what it's like in whichever country you're through)

The resolution is reduced only in passthrough for you?
Tbh I wasn't referring specifically to the passthrough, the decrease in resolution seems to affect other stuff/apps including the UI (blurry/pixelated text, and low resolution circular cursor).

I tried taking screenshots of the UI but I'm not sure how apparent it is.

This issue really needs to be reported to the big gaming sites  so meta will actually say or do something asap

Does anyone have any email addresses for who I can contact at places like IGN etc because this is a total joke. A console launch where by the sounds of it a massive amount of units are faulty.

Also why is everyone being told to contact support? unless you’re problem is you don’t have the required lighting or you need to adjust settings on the headset like contrast or brightness or do a hard reboot or factory reset, there is literally nothing else you can do to fix this problem

Replacing will not fix this issue. It's just how the unit is. It's meant to be grainy. Using PCVR helps a ton but the unit itself is really bad when running apps off the internals. I'm just waiting for Quest Pro 2 or Quest 3 now. Should be fixed by then.

We’re not referring to passthrough being grainy, if that's what you meant.

I think what most people in this thread are referring to is an overall system-wide low resolution due to being stuck in Battery Saver Mode (which lowers graphical fidelity).

I get grainy screen in games and HUD also.
