Quest 3 stuck in Battery Saver Mode

So I toggled the battery saver mode 3 days ago and ofc it lowered resolution. I wanted to test the feature. So I toggled it on, saw the change, and then toggled it off. When I turned it off, the resolution stayed the same, the fovetated size stayed the same. Everything was the same as if I was still on battery saver mode (with full charge on the headset).

I ignored this issue until today as I cannot deal with it anymore. I restarted the device, resolution is still low, text is pixelated, FOV is terrible, everything warped. The headset thinks I'm in battery saver mode still. Tried toggling it on and off and there is literally no change when turning it on, and of course no change when going back to off.

Please help.

I'm on v60

My boundary was looking like this while playing Asgard's Wrath 2:

But after a while it cleared up:

So, I don't know...
Still trying to figure out for sure whether I'm affected by this bug or not...

Still not fixed, support is only asking for reset.

I will admit that when v64 came out passthrough got a bit better. So that right there tells you it can be fixed software side. Not sure if they are worried that improving resolution will kill the battery and everyone will bomb forums with complaints their headset barely lasts 30 minutes, but we should have the option. I use mine hooked up to cable all the time so battery life doesn't affect me.

Boost up the resolution Meta! Let me worry about my battery life.

I have also had the  passthrough improve quite a lot as well. It has gone from utterly terrible to pretty bad in normal daylight which is a pretty good start 😃

it’s good enough to think it could be sorted out with a software update or a bug fix, plus it’s good enough to make me think if this was working really well it would be awesome

Why do you guys keep talking about passthrough mode?

It makes no sense to me. This has nothing at all to do with passthrough mode.

The passthrough is affected too.

Because the passthrough is bad I cant play mixed reality games because it completely destroys the effect for me

Can anyone from META please take control of this thread, and provide updates on where things stand? What is still needed to resolve this issue?

Couldn't agree more. There is definitely a bug in the battery saver toggling that no amount of factory resets corrects. And the so called "solution" here doesn't provide any relief or answers either. I followed the link to chat in PM To finally only be directed to post a bug report. Unfortunately the bug report link doesn't work either. I just get an endless loop of "something went wrong. Try again later". Very frustrating for such an expensive piece of hardware to not function properly due clearly to an imbedded bug of some type.

What is the bug report they sent you to? Should we be updating the bug report? Not sure why this has been open this long with no progress or update from META on what the next steps should be?

Hi AliceinVRworld. In your previous responses, you mentioned log files, which could be obtained via the CLI, that could help solve the issue. Could you please provide the steps to obtain and send the necessary information? I will do my best to complete the required actions to help resolve the problem as soon as possible.

I'm having this issue as well. I tried making a support ticket as requested and did get a fairly quick response, but my reply back to it was bounced back with one of those mailer daemon unbelievable automated replies.

The support email asked that I check for software updates, which I did. There's none available and currently on v65. I also tried multiple factory resets, both from the headset itself and the mobile app to no avail.

Another complaint here. Please release a fix for this issue as soon as possible. It's making the VR experience a mess, and I'm sure people will just return their Quest after being left disappointed by the low quality, and maybe not try another VR device for ages, adding to the "gimmick" sentiment.

It just doesn't seem like the Meta engineers are taking this situation seriously. Multiple updates have been released for other issues or enhancements while this one lingers for close to a year. And to me the solution is not to have to send in a brand new unit in exchange for a refurbished one. I'm extremely careful with how mine was handled and who knows what a refurbished one had been through. I paid new money for a new unit not a used one. I just fell victim to a bug in the software that now rendered it unusable which is definitely bs.

Edit: it still sucks
