Quest 3 Updating problem

Hello everyone

I have a problem updating my meta quest 3 goggles.

When turning off the update screen indicates that an update is taking place and the device will turn off after updating. After a dozen or so hours (>10 hours) the device is still updating.

A simple restart of the device does not give any results.

I tried to update the device using the online update tool. I paired the device with the computer but after about 5% of the progress the page shows an update error and tells me to contact the Meta support department.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Regards
Hubert

Hey everyone!

Whilst I am yet to hear back with an official update from the engineering team (they are incredibly busy) it appears that this issue has been resolved!

If you haven't done so already, could you please attempt the update process once again and see if it now works on you end?

Thanks for all of your collaboration in getting this sorted guys, see you in VR 👀

Same exact problem. Day one fresh out of the box and it will NOT let me update. Tried factory reset, sideload, various router settings pc's, cables etc. IT WILL NOT UPDATE no matter what. Absolutely livid with this thing considering how much it cost. Considering just geting a refund and sending it back.

Also are these helper replies bots????

Feeling the exact same way Razzie...it's wild.

I don't think the mod on page 2 was a bot

Got a DM on Twitter back from Meta, saying that the engineering team are aware of this emerging issue and that they're working on a fix

I tried with the phone, it doesn't work either. I contacted technical support, a specialized team must contact me again

My son just got his new meta quest 3 today and has been stuck updating for hours! Not a happy lad

Probably not worth your son keeping it on and trying to update. It's not gonna happen til they figure out a fix for this issue we're all experiencing. So interesting that a lot of people showing up in this thread today, like us, all got our headsets today and can't use them

I solved the problem by updating the device by going to Settings -> Updates and pressing the "Update now" button there. The update was downloaded and updated while the device was running.

The Googles were connected to the Wi-Fi network from my phone, not from the router as usual, but that probably didn't do anything.

The V69 update is quite large, it takes up 289MB of memory, so downloading it from the phone via the Internet and updating it took about 10 minutes.

Now the device turns off normally.

Not working when the device is already factory resetet.

I believe it is fixed now. The Update finally succeeded, and I can move on with the set-up.

Mine has just finally updated and he's playing happily! It was just left plugged in and it's completed after several hours
