Quest 2, 3 & Pro - Connectivity Issues

Hi everyone,
I have a Quest 3 and cannot connect the the wifi (it's a freebox, french internet provider).

Steps i took to troubleshoot :

  • I did manage to connect the quest to my cellphone via hotspot.
  • I factory reseted the quest and retried to connect to the freebox via passwords and QR code.
  • I trued to connect the quest via the phone app.
  • Rooter was rebooted, i was in the same room etc.
  • We have all other devices connecting without problem to this rooter.

Thanks for your help

Hey everyone! I'm a bit late to the party for announcing this, but the PTC for V67 just started rolling out not too long ago. It sounds really promising that some of you are already reporting improvements after updating! For anyone else participating in the latest V67 PTC build, please feel free to continue providing your feedback and experiences—along with your full build numbers, so that I can continue funneling these reports to the team. I don't have confirmation on whether or not a fix was supposed to roll out for this PTC build, but I'm working on finding out anything more I can share from the team. Thanks for continuing to keep me updated with your feedback!

Update:

Hey everyone, its looking like some people are seeing their issue resolved by updating to the latest PTC. If you're interested in testing out the new PTC release, you can find more information for how to opt in here. Please keep in mind that the PTC is a test build for unreleased Quest software builds, so while your Wi-Fi connectivity may have improvements, it's possible that other features of the software could be unstable. If you prefer to stay on stable public builds, I recommend holding out for the live V67 release, which should hopefully be coming out sometime soon!

May we get an update on this issue please. Has it been identified as a Meta issue considering that the network hardware information given by users shows different brands of wifi routers/access points?

I currently have a 6ghz network which is not being used due to constant disconnections meaning that my wifi 6e device is currently redundant and I am unable to use the dedicated access point with the quest 3.

petecod I'm not too certain on what's been confirmed by engineering just yet, as I have yet to hear back about any specifics or details. I do know that the team is requesting this information to improve wi-fi connectivity for Quest devices overall.

With the ISP, model, and other information (with their default configuration), we may be able to work with the ISP to resolve the issue.

As I mentioned previously, It looks like the team is planning to use this data to make informed improvements, so hopefully I'll have some information to bring back to you all soon. I'll be sure to check back in as soon as I have an update from the team. Thank you for your patience!

I'm wondering why ISP is being pointed at as a possible culprit since the headset explicitly states that it's Wi-Fi that gets disconnected, not that there's a problem with the internet connectivity.

Well, I can only say that after the problem started I switched ISPs (and modems) and it didn't change anything, though both of them are using the same infrastructure provider (Rogers, Canada), if that matters.

I get constant wifi droppings every 10 Minutes now after version 64 on Meta Quest 3. No problems with the Meta Quest Pro in the same Network.
The ISP is Vodafone Germany
Problem exists on a Fritz!Box 6490 Cable and also an ASUS RT AXE7800

I had this problem a month ago after getting v63. It disappeared after two days. Now it is back again with v64. It is strange, that it is exactly after 10 Minutes for 2 seconds.

Hey everyone! Back with an update from the team. It looks like the team was able to confirm the issue after analyzing user reports, and that they've started working towards a fix. If you haven't already, I recommend subscribing to the thread, so that you stay informed on any updates I post again as I learn more from the team. Thanks again for your patience! Hopefully I'll have more to share soon.

Hello, is there any updates? Is this supposed to be a support forum? I need help or I'll have to return the device, I use quest for multiplayer experiences and I can't use any.

Hello,

The recent quest 3 update that was deployed has bricked my device and is unable to connect to any wifi anymore.

it connects then automatically disconnects at least every 30 seconds. I have tried connecting to 2.4 ghz, 5ghz, and 6 ghz and it keeps disconnecting as of the recent update and there is no solution.

I have the same problem, the Q3 disconnects the WIFI randomly on 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz.

There must be a bug in v64.

I wish Meta weren't habitual liars.

I bought three different routers with each time them telling me it was the routers fault. Now I'm out nearly $500.00 on routers because they refuse to be transparent about their incompetence to write code.

In my German Facebook community there are a lot of people complaining about WiFi droppings since v64. Almost every 10 Minutes. They are not able to use their devices in a reasonable way now. It looks, that AVM Fritz!box cable models are affected (e.g. 6490, 6690). There must be something different compared to v63.

The disconnects are annoying. My Q3 is useless without a working WIFI Connection. In particular multiplayer games are not possible.

@TheLegend27Are there any updates about the fix?

Today I had no WIFI disconnects. Is the bug solved?

Not for me. Just tested and it disconnected like crazy. But sometimes it can run fine for ~30 mins or so. I think this 6 GHz disconnect bug, and the rate at which it appears, is intermittent.
