I'm moving from the east to the west coast of Canada. Google tells me it's a 71 hour journey, covering more than 6700km across one of the most amazing countries on the planet. To those of you south of the border, it's like driving from Bangor Maine to Seattle, only with Lake Superior in the way. So yeah, it's a long drive. What's excellent is that I'm doing this trip on Canada's 150th birthday. The not so excellent part is that I've done this drive once already - in the opposite direction 4 years ago.Movers come tomorrow and we start the drive on Friday. Apologies if I'm away from the forum for the next few weeks. Atmos73 has happily agreed to fill in with more positive messages and corrections of everyone's spelling for me.Edit: sorry, this was meant for off-topic. Could a mod do me a favour and move it there for me?
I was watching a Mukbang yesterday, and Hyunee said that it is necessary for pooch to wear dog boots in summer. Is it true that summer heat will burn or hurt dogs feet? My Labrador Retriever only wears shoes when we go hiking.
Saw this on the beeb - I'm not a cat person (my wife is, though) but they do look kinda cute together...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-43666657
I have been running some CPU / GPU ECT performance tuning software and found that my docking station was killing my performance. Thought id pass that along as something someone else might want to know.
RIP to this incredible pioneer of hard hitting underground electronica
Had a problem with my T300 rs not calibrating when first plugged into USB port so I decided to update the firmware from V24 to 28 but now when I plug the USB cable in the red light just flicker's then goes out and nothing.
Facebook. Sorry if that felt like being singled out -- because what ended up happening is thousands of Americans were singled out in targeted advertisement campaigns, in an information war campaign between the USA and Russia. Not looking to discuss the bigger existential crisis afoot, only...how do you feel about Oculus? Has your impression changed any?
Do I have to run Nvidia 3D vision wizard after every Graphics driver update? Currently I do a clean install of a new Graphics driver, but it's a pain having to run through the wizard for Nvidia 3D vision for my projector and monitor each time. If I just opt to update the graphics driver and keep the setting, will this then prevent me from having to run the Nvidia 3D vision wizard and set it things up again?..
An interesting article and step by the Federal Trade Commission in the US:Stickers on gadgets warning "warranty void if removed" are deceptive and likely to be illegal in the US, its consumer watchdog has said. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) said it had written to six companies to warn them about using misleading language.Ordering customers to "use specified parts or service providers to keep their warranties intact" was also prohibited, it said. The companies have 30 days to respond to the FTC.The commission did not name the companies it had written to, but it said the list included video games companies, smartphone-makers and car manufacturers.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-43724348
Anybody been playing it - what are your thoughts? I don't want to really discuss the "political" aspects of this game because they are superficial at best and honestly not really worth discussing.I am about 8 hours in (I had all of yesterday off, woohoo!!!) - I am not going to put any spoilers in this thread. But hot damn - I haven't really enjoyed a Far Cry game since the first one - but FC5 is just brilliant. I have read the reviews - and yes there are problems with the gameplay in as far as there are lots of systems interacting with each other all the time. It is a game where you don't really have a moments rest - and the story / narrative isn't as deep as it possibly could be. It is closer to the farcical GTA series than it is to anything more serious - which is a bit of a shame because the setting is very well realized and interesting to explore, but it doesn't feel dangerous or creepy very often and I think that is a missed mark. However it is just extremely fun to play. Before it
Just lately I'm starting to see more Pc games getting priced at $59.99. I hope VR games don't start edging towards that price. I wouldn't mind but some of the game are absolute pants. I'm not talking about games like your GTA ...etc. Are they doing this so that when these games are on sale for say $39.99, then everyone will think it's a bargain? I've just been looking at the DCS modules aswell and see there's some jets going for $69.99 and above..
I have a Corsair Force LX 256GB SSD which I now use for OS, system apps and main games. It was the only drive in my computer up until 6 months ago and has had moderate use over the past 4 years. It has been formatted 4 times that I can remember. I have a few questions about it and a possible upgrade. What sort of lifespan can I expect from it? I understand that there is a limited number of writes that can be performed before it dies.I see articles about how much faster new SSDs are. Is this only for specific use case scenarios like massive files being transferred and say, content creation? How much has current gen SSD tech improvements improved gaming load times over my older drive? How much faster will a new Evo 960 be for gaming, if at all?My motherboard only supports PCIe M.2 cards so a more expensive NVME is necessary rather than a SATA M.2, would I be better off with a 2.5" Evo rather than a M.2? Are there any trade offs?As I understand it, not having an OS on drive will improve loa
Does anyone use Google drive or something similar? I'm just wonder if it's worth getting and if it stores your files safely? Are there any others that are better then Google drive or is it better just getting a large Hard Drive? I'm just thinking if the Hard Drive developed a fault and I would lose all my files..
Crypto mining profitability with graphics cards tripled over night due to Monero regaining ASIC resistance! Prepare for a massive GPU shortage again! Oh wait, that's only good news for miners, Nvidia and especially AMD. >:)
From the days of the dk2 am back :) just got a rift with touch. Hopefully to install tomorrow
I usually slam my mouse on the desk and punch my keyboard., At times I will also squeeze my controller hard with my hand and twist it.I have been known to throw my keyboard.Usually I swear loudly with the word, 'F**K'.
Im a sucker for April fools jokes. If you come across anyone good, please do post them. Here is one: https://www.razer.com/campaigns/project-venom-v2https://youtu.be/j8UJE7DoyJ8For years, we’ve been creating high-performance gaming devices with the best features. And now we’ve finally hit the next frontier of performance: YOU. I want some of those : :p
Not that you'd want to of your own volition, but on occasion, you have little choice.I have an Acer Aspire with Win 7 Starter on it and I now need to put Win 10 on it, but even us disabled users can't officially get a free key now. However, it turns out that as long as you have a valid activation key for 7 or 8, you can use it for 10.I got this info from Forbes:https://www.forbes.com/sites/ianmorris/2018/01/26/how-to-get-windows-10-for-free-in-2018/#5ed1e1b65145and it seems to be still valid. I'm just downloading 10 now, to a USB stick - I'll confirm it works later today (or not - but I reckon it will).
https://www.csoonline.com/article/3264658/privacy/microsoft-to-ban-offensive-language-from-skype-xbox-office-and-other-services.htmlhopefully this is just taking things to the extreme and will never actually be a thing..... because if not then George Orwell was right, its 1984 but just come 35 years later than planned.I have no problem (ok i do have a problem but i have accepted it) with my data not being as private as i would like.... but potentially fishing through it then punishing me for it, despite it being private between consenting adults?
I tried watching a streaming movie - the new maze runner.I watched 'blade of the immortal' - very good movie. Was thinking about playing VR but getting frustrated with RoborecallI have Dead Cells, but killed it.. Anyone got some thoughts for my existence? My wife is out as well.. so cant even talk to her..
Oh boy ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffNlrGRrY9Yhttp://puccho.jp/a-n/
every time I play the game, I have to star from beginig
So I have recently noticed a drop in performance of some of my applications on windows that used Hardware Acceleration, I thought maybe a dodgy Nvidia driver.Get this, turns out, that by some strange glitch in the matrix, the applications were trying to use the Graphics Chip on the Intel CPU !!!! totally messing up Hardware Acceleration. Seems some people on the Nvidia forums had a similar issue with their Mining software suddenly trying to access Integrated graphics.NOTE: This only applies to PC's and motherboards that have some sort of DIsplay port like HDMI/Dvi on them and NOT Laptops, To solve this I used DDU and removed the Intel drivers, while disabling the automatic update.
