Iv entered -vr in the launch options iv enabled vr in game the game switches to some stereoscopic view but wont show up on my rift and i set my rift options to enable other programs to use my rift any idea how to help me?
While I really just made this to help my self I guess a discussion on the topic of getting non vr games working in vr would be good. I found a program called VorpX but it cost money I thought nivida had something like that but seems to be for dated hardware. any one know a general way of getting 3d games working in vr more specifically the rift?also this is supposed to be a actual thread so feel free to talk about the topic.
Why cant we move the walls to the right position inside our headset. This would be awesome. For example, push or pulling the virtual grid walls in any direction to get a better sense of the true boundaries. It is probably easy to adjust as well.I know it annoys me when the sensors cant see the touch controllers.. and it is painfully slow.Thoughts?
Me personally, I think this is a waste of money.. A health and safety guide for a sensor?? The booklet it about two inches in size and a gazillion pages. Not sure about you.. but I am not going to eat my sensor.. Dont even know how you could injure yourself because of the sensor?
i was thinking today.. what happens when oculus starts supporting safe spaces and so do games that include some sort of snowflake sensitive pre-requisite. I would like to see male and female hands.. The hands look to soft and girly for me currently. I like the Robo Recall Hands...Just my opinion.. A great big hairy hand with a kick ass skull ring =D
Picked it up at BB today. 2 main reasons. One being that I own a Vive and I never thought much of the room space stuff, I much prefer seated gaming with a gamepad and Rift has more of those with gamepad support so I"m not cut off from half the library like I am on Vive (revive is a joke Imo and not trustworthy enough to purchase Home games). Some of Vive's seated/standing games are actually standing only less you prefer to walk around from the POV of a little person. Secondly I had a Vive since last August but the software issues are constant. Steam Controller only works in the menu when it wants to. When I press home to bring up the menu inside the HMD, I cannot view my game library. Sometimes the desktop won't show up and other times neither icon even shows up on the bar leaving only the settings and power on/off viewable. Sometime the home button on the Vive wands or Steam Controller do nothing at all. The little button the HMD also only works on occasions. It takes foreeeever for t
I find the oculus home so much more convenient when navigating VR games.
The latest presentation from the team at ML - https://www.facebook.com/ign/videos/10154537446311633/Obviously, the clock is ticking on the all important board presentation of the prototype of what they hope to field. Snake Oil, or Reality... you decide.
For many, the arcade scene is dead and forgotten - while for others it is still a vibrant and important aspect of the digital entertainment scene. While getting ready for one of the big arcade shows in the US - I was reminded of the company Global VR - one of the few operations that survived the 90's collapse in interest in VR, still retains VR in their company name, and still supports one of the few remaining VR machines in the field (above the Vortex). With all the investment in digital out-of-home entertainment (DOE) regarding VR investment, it will be interesting tio see what machines will be in the venues of the future, and how many of them survive the test of time like the Vortex.
Hi, Im wanting to bring my game from SteamVR over onto oculus home, but cannot find any info out about touch dev kits. Are these not a thing any more?It has been in Steam Early Access for about 7 months now and i would like to put it on Oculus as well if i can!Sorry if it's a silly question, i cannot find info anywhere, and no one at gdc could help...Thanks
Ok gang. I have a Samsung 256 gig 850 Pro. Many used for the OS. And I have a 1 TB WD Black HDD, that has my programs and games on it. I am finding that I am running out of room. Since now games can be 50 gigs and up to install. I want to replace the WD 1 tb with at least a 2 TB HDD. Is WD Black drives still good. Or is there any other recommendations? As well. How would clone the old drive to the new drive
UploadVR just released an article covering Palmer answering questions in court today... for those 2 or 3 people a bit to obsessed with anything Oculus/Luckey like myself. http://uploadvr.com/palmer-luckey-takes-stand-zenimax-court-case/I read this morning that Palmer showed up to court today along with Mark Z. He was reportedly rocking a bright pink tie. Perhaps this doesn't seem all that newsworthy but this is literally the first sighting or report of Palmer I have found in months.I miss reading about Oculus in the early days and watching Palmer talking about VR with so much excitement. These next few weeks will be interesting as well, regardless of how things turn out I hope that the Zenimax and Oculus business can all finally be settled and we can hopefully enjoy more VR in the future!
By completing this poll, you can save others of going through the headache of having to re-install the Oculus app and games again. Help the next generation of gamers stop the re-installment cycle in it tracks and help world peace.
Things I see Vive-owners saying on social media on a near-daily basis:"The Vive is the only real VR because it has motion controls!""Without motion controls, VR is just a monitor on your face""Why would I play this game if it doesn't have motion controls in it?""This game is incredible because motion controls! (no other reason given)""You can't get immersion without motion controls.""I'll buy anything with motion controls in it!"Things I see my fellow Rifters saying here:"Oh yeah well the Rift WILL be the best AFTER we get motion controls!""These games are fun I guess but they'd be better if they used Touch""Every game I want to see in the future involves motion controls."Things I remember Wii-owners saying:"I can't wait until the Wii comes out, motion controls are going to revolutionize gaming!""Oh wow, Wii Sports is the most incredible game I've ever played! Motion controls, yay!""Huh... motion controls sure got old fast. All these developers just shoe-horned them in unnecessar
Hi all! This is my first post here and I'm just a simple photographer, new to the VR world, so please correct me if I say anything dumb or violate any posting etiquette. I happen to have access to a full lineup of Phase One 100 megapixel medium format cameras, and I was wondering if there was any interest in the VR community in creating content with such systems. It would take a significant amount of data processing, and most of the interest in VR seems to be in the video domain, but if you wanted hyperrealistic environment/object recreation, I feel like these systems might be fairly useful. Here are some sample 2D photos taken on the system (google drive link because files are too big to attach):https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4lJAQLztAD8TWdHWDY0U2lYQ1U?usp=sharingIn a nutshell, I'm wondering whether there's an interest in high resolution photography for VR. Looking forward to your feedback! Thanks!
Hi, guys, this is totally off topic but I would like to get some help. I bought a window sensor from an alarm company a couple of years back ( http://cspalarms.ca/ ). Last morning it showed that the batteries were draining so I had them replaced. But it still kept showing the low battery warning. I removed the batteries for a few minutes and then replaced it and it still showed the low battery warning. The window sensor is pretty much the only security we have in the house, so I would like to get it fixed as soon as possible. Any thoughts on this would be great.
I think this is ridiculous warning. This app is taking to long to load..etc.
Hey all,I just discovered what Nimble VR is/was. I searched the forums and saw it was brought up a few times within the past few months (mainly in the context of LeapMotion). Back to Nimble, essentially it's a IR based tracking technology for tracking your hands/fingers movement; Constellation sensors/cameras also use IR (Infrared)See video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_U3BmDlmtcWhat's interesting is this company was acquired by Oculus a few years back!! Now, I've seen tweets of reporters saying they heard hints from Oculus not to give up on Constellation just yet; perhaps they have new features in the works? Perhaps Nimble VR tech can still be an added feature for CV1 Rift? What do you all think?

Sony JP rush to patent their 'Lighthouse' style new tracking system - in order to address serious issues with PSVR and growing returns:
Hi,Buying a new laptop and was hoping that I might be able to get by with a 1050ti as I'm reading mixed opinions.I don't have a VR headset as of yet but am thinking about it sometime in the near future and for the games I play the 1050ti will work fine (BF2) mostly.
