My resume is online and I get emails everyday from consulting companies, I want to contact him but I'm afraid I might not say his name correctly.
With VR's hitting the marked, there is a new generation of gameplay coming. But, there is one thing that has been completely missed out on and I have yet to see. It is the realization that you have left the room and entered a new dimension! The thing that has been missed out on is the fact that there should be a camera attached to the VR gear that displays your room, that once you enter a game gives a visualizing effect of your room changing the environment into the games environment. This effect could be like your room breaking apart into small fractions, changing to the game. Just imagine your room falling apart like a broken mirror into pieces. This would more then deliver the fact that you have left your safe home and entered something new. The immersion effect would be enhanced by a lot. The same goes for quitting the game.I'm not saying that every game needs to have his own visualization effect for this feature, but the main gear should have an overlay for this kind of effect regar
I am working on a pulley system for my rift to keep the cable out of the way. My original idea was to have the cable going straight up from my PC to one hook then to a pulley about 1.5 meters away with some slack and a weight in the middle it so when I move around or bend down the cable extends, and retracts back when I move back. However, I'm having a problem. I went to a local hardware store and picked up a pulley which was obviously for a more heavy duty job, and as a result the wheel doesn't spin very easily, and thus does not retract back unless I put a somewhat large weight. The problem with this larger weight is that I can actually feel the cable pulling up on the back of my head. So, my question was: has anyone else done something similar to this, and if so, can anyone recommend a pulley with less resistance so I can use less weight?

I didn't really know the best way to do this but because this community was quite kind to me I thought I would post about this publicly. Basically this thread is just to say that I am retiring from my Volunteer Moderator position. Not like I ever did much -.- Honestly very quickly after I was given the position my life got flipped upside down. I sent the other mods a message saying I'd be out of commission for a while but that I intended to come back. However I can see that's not gonna happen now. There is just too much going on in my life. Way too much for a single thread. Just about everything that could possibly go wrong is or has and I'm well beyond my ability to handle it and honestly I'm not gonna do very well if it continues like this. I'm scared for myself and my future because I simply cannot do all this. I've had a LOT of help from my friends, but it's still not enough. It's a scenario designed for me to fail, honestly. That's just how the stars aligned so to speak. The world

Hey, I have a question how does one go contacting someone by phone because i returned my oculus and according to UPS they received it on 7/6/16 it is not 7/14 and i've yet to receive a refund. I've submitted multiple tickets about it and have sent email but I am getting no response
Watching 3D movies on the Oculus Rift (or alternative headset) in your virtual cinema of choice is AWESOME, as anyone who has gotten it to work will tell you, and there's clearly a common interest in the experience judging from the number of threads asking HOW to get them to work..But this thread isn't about how to watch 3D movies on the Rift (just look up any of those other threads for that) This thread is about what to watch! In other words, recommend movies that you think look awesome in 3D, ones where the filming / effects were done really well and where the 3D adds significantly to the movie experience. Feel free to write up a mini-review or link to someplace the film can legally be acquired.___________________________So far, I've tried two different films myself, Zootopia and Mad Max: Fury Road, both ripped from 3D BluRays I own. Both were phenomenal!Zootopia is of course one of Disney's newest blockbusters, a computer-animated m
Rode the new adapted Air ride @ Alton towers yesterday and to say it was underwhelming would be too kind. There is no sense of presense you get from the Oculus Rift/HTC Vive or the Gear VR I've tried which is odd as the ride supposedly uses the Gear VR?!? Juddery visuals/low fps with what looked like a complete lack of ATW left me feeling like I did when I originally tried VR in the 1990's - Interesting but certainly not compelling in any meaningful way.... so disappointing.I did start to worry before getting on the ride as the people coming off before me looked bored not wow'ed. If people come away judging VR as a gimmick as a result of experiences like this it will be a real shame. It's like they strapped a DK1 onto a rollercoaster and said 'that'll do, we're done...'. If anything it took away from the rollercoaster experience and left little to no lasting impression...
Hi AllHope you do not mind me posting this, but with all of the news around the virtual reality explosion at the moment I thought I would ask Phil South, to write a story to remind every one of an Amiga pioneer, especially with the 30th anniversary coming up. I assume Palmer has one of these in his collection as well :-)http://www.vrexperience.net/Newsroom.aspx?id=120Steve Jones
So is anyone else caught the Pokemon Go bug? I grew up with it so it's pretty easy to reel me in with pokemon :P I saw Palmer post this on his facebook today and made me wonder how many other rifters are playing! I'm in the UK so had to download via the apk but I'm so addicted I haven't played anything else since I downloaded it, I keep going outside instead :o I wonder how many other Oculus employees are trying to beat Palmer :D
Came across this new mod for Skyrim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQog9lkyH8kGerman version is already out and English one due for release this month
Sorry, but I am not sure where to post this and ive looked around, Does Oculus do game refunds? I bought a few games off the Oculus store and I am looking for a refund. Any help would be appreciated
This new website https://3donlinefilms.com/ has quality free 3D 180 video movies just ready for watching. They havein SD and HD titles as: Ant Man, Avatar, Captain America The Winter Soldier, Dawn of thePlanet of the Apes, Dragon Blade, Frozen, Gods ofEgypt, Godzilla, Gravity, Guardians of the Galaxy, Mad MaxFury Road ....... TheHD resolution is 1920x400 for 2.4:1 pictures, 1920x540 for16:9 pictures, so aFullHD phone is needed to watch them in HD.Theysolved the problem of Closed Captions for 180 videos in their player and youcan see some of them with Spanish or Russian subtitles. It isimportant to know you need a browser with flash support as Flashfox, Dolphin,Puffin. The movies are flash based and it doesn't work in html5 browsers.
I'll admit, I very rarely play scary games at all, but I think it's just because so few really appeal to me. Gamers tend to be fairly jaded to horror visuals after all, which may be why so many modern horror games resort to ultra-violence or cheap jump-scares just to get a reaction; With VR however, that isn't necessary, you can scare the **** out of someone by making them so immersed in the world that that "This isn't real" disconnect they get with tradition games no longer keeps them feeling safe. Plus, some of the inherent features of VR make for some intriguing possibilities in the design of horror games. So, y'know, here's some of the concepts I've thought up, just for sharing / discussion sake:Scopophobia, the Game:A little backstory first, for those unfamiliar with the term: Scopophobia is often incorrectly defined as a fear of eyes, which would actually be "Ommetaphobia". Scopophobia on the other hand, is a fear of unwanted attention, or
I WAS THINKING OF A TECH WHICH IS CAPABLE OF TRANSLATING LANGUAGES THROUGH A HEADSET X VR...IT WILL BE A USEFUL TECH, THERE'S NO NEED FOR GOOGLE TRANSLATE....FOR EXAMPLE: I SPEAK ENGLISH AND THE PERSON I WAS TALKING TO IS A CHINESE, SO THROUGH THAT TECH IT WILL HELP US UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER WITHOUT LEARNING LOT OF LANGUAGES. JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIE "MARS NEED MOM",THEY ALSO HAVE A TRANSLATOR DEVICE WHICH IS USED TO TRANSLATE MARTIAN LANGUAGES THROUGH HUMAN LANGUAGES TOO.SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE MESSAGE FOR MORE...ALSO PLEASE RECRUIT ME IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUILD THAT TECH, COZ I WANNA BE WITH THAT TECH TOO ^^(MY OPINION)CAN WE BUILD OUR FUTURE?
Anyone can set up a website/youtube channel these days and proclaim to be the bringer of news to fellow gamers. True and steadfast with your, "the gamer" interests at heart. Yet this means that a lot of stuff is made up out of nothing or twisted to become a hit grabbing masterpiece which isn't journalism at all - you've seen the mountains made out of the Oculus vs Revive molehills. It's likely some of those people don't class themselves as journalists and just see themselves as presenters of "teh facts". So here we are, a news story that seems to suggest some skulduggery with Microsoft's stance on its Play Anywhere games. Quote Headline:Microsoft Backtracks on “No Xbox Exclusives” – Caught Stealth Editing PostOooh the drama.According to the story, Microsoft has now changed , or should I say "stealth edited" a blog post which previously hinted that all of its first party games could be "Play Anywhere" - that's appearing on Xbox One and Windows 10 at the same time with just one purchas
The current divide betweenlovers of DK2 and lovers of CV1 reminds me of the seemingly endless debate, starteddecades ago but which is still continuing, on the ‘merits of vinyl in thedigital age’. The Cavaliers encamped on the vinyl rump of the argument wereconvinced that it produced a richer, more vibrant sound, and perhaps they hadan aesthetic fondness for scratches as well. The Roundheads, on the other hand, rejected the wonderful art covers, didn’t care for vinyl adoration, and foundthemselves slumming it with CDs instead.I admit, I have a likingfor analogue and DK2.
Hello I’m Matt,I’m quite new in 360 world but I have a full understanding of the technique.I’m a motion graphic designer with strong video background.Recently I made some 360 tests with Cinema 4d.I tested that using mettle skybox viewer and everything is working.I injected 360 metadata and after uploading video on FB and YT, The video doesn’t working properly. The websites recognize 360 tag and interpretate that as a 360 but something is wrong ;/https://youtu.be/jYW2hcvgtg8https://www.facebook.com/mateuszplos...0379448006106/the original video looks like that:https://youtu.be/9zU0SK62iygThank you for your time
I see quite often in the activity reel that 400+ members have just joined the fray but can Cybereality divulge what the total number of members are here just out of interest. I know there's a lot of dev and Oculus employee lurkers here too and I guess for indie developers (or porn sites) there's a motive to make a topic to get <insert game or porn site here> noticed.

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks!
Nothing to do with VR but I know there are a few avid Trekkies in the forum... just got delivered my original series communicator from The Wand Company after 7 months of waiting.... Rifts aren't the only toys worth waiting for ;) anyway when it's finished charging I'll be beaming up, live long and prosper.& it works.. just speak into it & say the name of anyone in your mobile phone's memory and it'll call them, am going to change my brother's name to Scotty and see how long it take him to get annoyed
