This is a build using parts of my current system and some significant upgrades.Components without a price are ones I already own and that will be transferred to the new system.Feel free to suggest upgrades or comment on any selected components. So I can't seem to figure out how to quote someone, yeah I know I'm a noob.  I hit the quote text under someones post and it highlights it, but then nothing happens.  I'm used to either being taken to my reply with the quote already pasted in, or having some kind of a way to insert the quote after highlighting it.  I'm sure it's something silly, but can anyone shed any light on this?

Just played a match of the beta and its surprisingly fun. The only thing is theres no weapon pickups :( just loadouts and you start with a full clip. So its more like rocket arena I guess. Very noob friendly. Plays like quake3

Hello!I'm in the beginning of a project, i would like to build myself a station for my hotas-x and eventually a racing wheel (before my rift arrive... in may ç_ç) problem is i have no idea of "how" to build it, i mean measures and stuff like that, i'm not an expert in bricolage, but i think i can safely say i can handle myself :)Is there anyone who can link me some project for a custom made stand?

Wouldn't it be awesome if in VR you could take your digital music collection and turn them into vinyl records you could play on a virtual record player in your VR home?Now of course the audio wouldn't feature the analog distortion, it would just be in that form factor for aesthetics.You could store all your records on a shelf or around your VR home/apartment and build your ultimate dream album collection.Now imagine this, what if there were virtual record stores you could walk into and browse their collection and then purchase some albums for yourself.They would be instantly sent to a folder in variety of formats (preferably flac) and automatically placed in your VR home or a VR shopping cart.The stores could feature multiplayer too so you could walk in and chat with other music fans and maybe discover something new that way or make friends.I really hope this becomes a thing.

how do u get the menu to fit the screen and the guns to show on the screen. on the pre sequel u cant c ur gun in splitscreen. iv already set the field of view to the highest .this wasnt a problem in borderlands 2 ps3

So, a few years back (4 maybe, don't remember anymore) PrimaCinema launched a home theater movie rental service for day one theatrical releases, unfortunately only targeting the wealthy with a cost of $35,000 for the media server and $750 a view for title. Now ex Napster founder apparently wants to bring a new alternative bringing the price to $150 for the top box thingy and only $50 per view, essentially the same scale of revolution (IMO) that brought Stanford University to shelf old $60k HMDs in favor of $350 DK2s and is bringing VR to the main population after 30 years!So, do you think the movie industry will let him start this business or we'll read in newspapers about his murder by a major studios' secretly hired hitman?

Please don't write about law protection.This is only first step.But what next ?That's really hard question for me.How I can realise my ideas ? This is my first forum post. I've owned a DK2 since September '14 and have loved every moment. I've received my "Processing in 1 - 3 weeks" email last night and cannot wait to try out the CV1! I've been a long-time poster on r/Oculus, but the vibe has changed there in the past couple of months, and this forum looks like a breath of fresh air! Much better energy.  ;) Anyway, I just wanted to say I'm very excited for this launch and cannot wait to meet you all in the Rift!

Hi,I just recently purchased an older oculus development kit (dk1) from a pawn store hoping it would work on my computer. I have a brand new MSi GE62 2QD Apache Pro gaming laptop and im having issues getting it to work. i know that most laptops do not work with oculus but im hoping there is a solution and that i will be able to fix it. The problem is the rift is not picking up my GPU and only is picking up my integrated graphics. Now i know the HDMI port goes through the processor and is supposed to be plugged in directly into the GPU, but i do not have that option. Is there any way i can bypass the integrated graphics or something? Ive been trying for hours googleing and messing around with nvidea control panel as well as trying to disable my integrated graphics. If there is nothing i can do please let me know so that i can hopefully return it and get my money back. I have all the drivers installed but on the configureation utility it says HMD powered off please check HDMI connection.

I need to upgrade my video card but after spending thousands of dollars on VR equipment, I don't have much left to spend on a video card, especially if my CPU isn't good enough. I was going to go with a GTX 970 but the R9 390 is the same price up here and comes with 8GB and I've heard rumours that AMD cards may work better with DX12.I'm mostly going to be doing dev work with Unity and if I can get some time play racing sims such as iRacing or Assetto Corsa (and maybe some Elite Dangerous). Does anyone have any recommendations?
