I have an application where an action is started when the user presses the secondary trigger button (the trigger button of the right hand controller). During testing I regularly take of my headset to check Unity's Android Logcat window and I noticed that every time I unmount the HMD a new action starts. So it looks like the unmount event is treated the same as a secondary button press event.I do get a notification every time I start the project that it uses the new Input System (which I never activated, so it must be a reault of upgrading to the latest All in One XR SDK or the sample scenes) and that native backends are not enabled and it asks me if I want to upgrade. I select No, because I remember that the new input system is very complex, so I don't want to take that hit right now. Could it be related to this? Is there an InputAction asset in the Meta SDKs? or in the Interaction SDK Samples? I can't seem to find it in the project window. Or is this a bug?Unity 2023.2.22Meta XR A

Hello,Has anyone figured out a way to get microphone access without causing the Call UI to take over the displays? I've noticed that when I launch the app I'm developing from Xcode onto my iOS, the first instance of activating the microphone doesn't lead to the call UI taking over my screen, but subsequent instances do. This tells me there's likely a way to bypass it, but I haven't quite figured out how yet.

Good Evening,First, let me apologize; I don't even know if this is the right/appropriate place to pose a question regarding the Displays.I am an early adopter and longtime user of the Quests (Quest, Quest 2, and Quest Pro) and the Meta Ray-Ban 1st Gens. I am looking forward to what is on the for both systems. My question is regarding the new/upcoming Displays' capabilities. Can the Displays be used as a vision assist device using the integrated display? (in much the same way that Android devices can be used to zoom in on items with a magnifying app, can the display on the Display glasses be used to see what the camera sees and zoom in and out.)For a real-life example, would a person be able to zoom in on a menu or small print on an ingredient list?Same question but for long distance: if the display can be used to zoom, can the Displays be used to zoom in to see something at a distance?Real-life example, could the Displays zoom to see a street name or petrol prices at a distance?I

This issue seems to have started after updating Meta Horizon Link to version 83.0.0.333.349.At least with version 83.0.0.311.349, developer-specific features (such as passthrough and hand tracking) did not work, but VR Preview itself was functioning correctly. Current behavior:When I press VR Preview, the Unreal Engine preview window enters a non-VR state (the camera is fixed at floor level and does not move), and nothing happens on the Meta Quest headset connected via Air Link.On the headset side, the Link waiting screen (the gray environment) continues to be displayed indefinitely. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?Any information or insights would be greatly appreciated. Environment:Unreal Engine 5.5Meta XR Plugin: 78Meta Horizon Link: 83.0.0.333.349

Hi , I’m currently working with both a Meta Quest 3 and a Varjo XR-4, using the same Unreal Engine VR project (UE 5.7.4). I recently ran into an issue where VR Preview would not work with the Meta Quest 3 . When launching VR Preview, the Unreal Editor preview window opened in a non-VR state, the camera remained fixed with no head tracking, and the headset was stuck on a loading screen (on unreal editor). After some investigation, I found the following discussion which described the same issue:https://communityforums.atmeta.com/discussions/Questions_Discussions/vr-preview-does-not-work-when-metaxr-plugin-is-enabled-in-unreal-engine/1362455Following the suggested workaround of removing the Khronos OpenXR registry entry resolved the Meta Quest 3 VR Preview problem. However, after doing so, my project no longer works with the Varjo XR-4, which had been functioning correctly before. My goal is to maintain a single Unreal project that can run on both Meta Quest 3 and Varjo XR-4 without havin

Hello Meta Developer Community,My name is Rodrigo Sologaistoa. I am a biologist pursuing a master’s degree in bioinformatics, and I work at the Biomolecule Simulation Laboratory at the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo.I am also quadriplegic and a power wheelchair user. Because of my disability, I cannot use my hands to control the standard Meta Quest 3 controllers. However, in my daily computer setup, I use my Quantum power wheelchair joystick as an input device through Bluetooth, and I also use external right- and left-click buttons connected through a Bluetooth mouse setup.I would like to ask whether there is currently any way to connect this type of accessibility input setup to the Meta Quest 3. Ideally, I would like to use my wheelchair joystick and Bluetooth mouse buttons to navigate and control the headset instead of using the standard handheld controllers.Voice control is helpful for navigating parts of the Meta interface, but it is not enough for many apps. For example, I want to

Hi everyone,I'm having an issue with the Worlds Editor that started the day on monday and is still happening today. Our team can no longer import assets correctly, and many of the assets that were already placed in the scene now appear broken or invisible. This is affecting every member of the team, not just a single account. The teammate who originally uploaded the assets is seeing the following error:"The entity backed by id ... cannot be seen by the viewer ...DENY_RULE: EntSocialVRAssetPackageBlobExperimentalPrivacyPolicy: AlwaysDenyRule: In the absence of other rules, this content is hidden."Has anyone experienced this before or knows what could be causing it? Is this related to an asset privacy issue, a permissions problem, or a recent change in the Worlds Editor?I also tried posting this issue on the Creator Forum, but the forum itself gives me a "Cannot add message - Something went wrong, please try again" error when I try to publish.Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciat

Hello! Question in theme.

Hi Meta Quest Browser / WebXR team,I’m experimenting with WebXR UI on Meta Quest 3 and wanted to ask about support or roadmap for the new HTML-in-Canvas API / `canvas-draw-element`.Chrome exposes this experimental feature behind:`chrome://flags/#canvas-draw-element`The use case is especially relevant for immersive WebXR apps: rendering real interactive HTML UI into a canvas/WebGL/WebGPU texture and placing it inside a 3D/XR scene, instead of rebuilding all UI manually with meshes, sprites, or custom canvas drawing.I tested experimental HTML-in-Canvas pages on Meta Quest Browser. The flag appears in `chrome://flags`, but the API does not seem to work yet on Quest.A few questions:1. Is `canvas-draw-element` currently expected to work in Meta Quest Browser?2. If the flag appears but the API is unavailable/non-functional, is that a known limitation?3. Is support for HTML-in-Canvas planned as Meta Quest Browser updates to newer Chromium milestones?4. Are there any Quest-specific WebXR/secur

Good day, everyone! I'm working on a project aimed at implementing virtual body swapping using standalone VR headsets. I want to stream the video from the see-through cameras from one headset to another. The problem lies in API access restrictions and processing video with depth data so it looks like the headset's native see-through channel. Ideally, the system application that renders the see-through image captures the camera video and the LIDAR data from the headset. We cannot directly transmit the finished image to another headset. If we use the API, the image will be cropped, according to the documentation, and we'd need to write the rendering algorithm ourselves, as simple flat stereo video doesn't provide immersion. My idea is this: we can transmit the see-through camera and LIDAR data over the network to another headset and trick the second headset's system application into capturing this data from the other headset instead of its own, processing it the same way it pr

Hi!  Hopefully someone has solved this problem - I'm looking to log some information to a cloud database and I need to access and log the device Id.  The ID I'm looking for isn't accessed via "SystemInfo.deviceUniqueIdentifier", nor is it SystemInfo.deviceModel, deviceName, or deviceType.  The ID I'm looking for is the same ID that shows up in the Meta Horizon Managed Services devices list.  It's a 14 digit device Id like "1WMHH6666V0335".  I'm looking to access this Id in Unity.  Can someone tell me what property I'm looking for?  I think this might be the SERIAL number. Thanks for your time!

After my headset decided to update itself to 2.4 my hand tracking no longer functions in my OpenXR app. I'm using Unity and the Meta Aim Hand OpenXR feature and the ray is stuck permanently straight. Moving my hand doesn't move my ray in any meaningful way and I can no longer select objects. Here is a video from the built in unity VR sample with no edits made.https://streamable.com/r230zuHow did this ever get promoted from PTC? What do I do to fix this? Picking up a controller to do actions in my app that is primarily hand tracked is not a solution.

Since I upgraded to the latest update with the big UI change, things got worse for some interactions. Unknown sources tab appears and disappears from in the library menu. Sometimes is there, sometimes is not. I restart the headset, it appears.  Also, sometimes the list of the applications inside unknown sources is empty. Sometimes all my apps from there appears only after a restart. Also, very important, when I m in one of my app, from unknown sources, normally when you point the fingers towards you and pinch, to access the hand menu, there are options to resume or quit the app. Now, in some apps, when I pinch, that menu doesn't appear and I cannot quit the applications. It never happened before this big update. Sometimes it appears, and I can press on quit, sometimes not. When I pinch and when I see the button quit, it also says "app name not available".Does anyone encountered these issues? Thank you.

Hi,I'm a solo indie developer, and I've recently published a game on the Meta Horizon Store:https://www.meta.com/en-gb/experiences/alien-monke/25773573445586295/It's inspired by Gorilla Tag, but with a unique twist: players can move much faster using boost gadgets, and every minute an artifact spawns that allows players to flip the hunt. The game has received exceptionally good feedback so far. Players seem to genuinely enjoy the experience, which has been incredibly rewarding to see as an independent developer.Recently I've removed the Early Access flag in the meta data as the game passed public beta phase and is in good enough condition for general public. However, the game didn't appear in the New Releases category.  I've already reached out to support but they recommended to join the Meta Horizon Start program, hence i've created this post.I would be very grateful for any support you could provide.Thank you for your time and consideration.Best,Pavel

Hello! I have a Unity project for Meta Quest 3 that uses MRUK. The app starts in a room, but I have "Load Scene on Startup" disabled in MRUK, and I don’t call LoadSceneFromDevice until the user is in the room where the scan was created. The problem is that sometimes the room scan breaks randomly for no apparent reason. What can I do? Since I need to start the app in a different room, should I create and store multiple rooms so the system knows where it is? For example, having two rooms saved and letting it detect which one it’s in. Should I start with the quest cameras covered so it doesn’t try to recognize the space until the user is in the correct room, hoping it will recognize it immediately. Is this the right approach? Thanks, this apk is for a restaurant, where the waiters start the aplication in a room, go to another (where is the scaned room) and gives them to the customers, and the experience start and they don't live the room.

Hello! We are developing a PC-VR app in Unity with Meta Quest 3 at our company. We use OpenXR plugin to build the code around OpenXR standard in order to support more platforms in the future. However, the button to set the meta quest link as active runtime for open xr never works on our test PCs. We've tested multiple laptops & PCs in the companies and none of them seem to be work without us manually setting the path in the registry. We've tried starting the Link app as an admin, installed it as an admin etc. One time the registry entry doesn't even get added automatically after installing Meta Quest Link App and we had to install "OpenXR for Windows Mixed Reality" to create it without writing a script to automatically create the group entry ("HKLM\Software\Khronos\OpenXR\1") in the registry.Could anyone help clarify what is up with this case and how we can resolve it? Otherwise the setup process is basically impossible for our potential customers without in-depth technical supp

Hello everyone,I'm currently facing a persistent issue regarding OVRCanvasMeshRenderer in my Unity project for Meta Quest. The setup:Engine: Unity (using Universal Render Pipeline)SDK: Meta XR All-in-One Version 201Unity: 6.0 (6000.0.63f1)Features: Using Meta's punch-hole / underlay technology to render high-quality UI over the scene via OVRCanvasMeshRenderer. The problem: Everything works perfectly when launching the app. However, if the user puts the Meta Quest headset into standby/sleep mode and then wakes it up to resume the application, the UI canvas suffers from a noticeable positional offset (displacement). It seems like the projection matrices or the underlying render textures do not resynchronize correctly with the updated tracking data when the application regains focus. The Canvas appears detached or lags behind the head movement. What I've tried:Disabling and re-enabling the OVRCanvasMeshRenderer component upon OnApplicationFocus(true) / OnApplicationPause(false).Introduci

I'm working on a creative tool that integrates with Meta's ad stack. For one feature, I'd like users to voluntarily provide a single photo of themselves - explicit opt-in, first-party - used to generate a personalized creative for that same user.To be clear: I'm not asking how to access platform-stored user images or anything the APIs don't expose, and I'm not trying to work around any privacy boundary. My question is only about the supported, compliant way to handle media a user themselves chooses to contribute.Specifically:1. Are there documented patterns for capturing user-provided media within the Meta ad ecosystem (interactive/playable formats, Instant Experiences, partner flows)?2. What consent, retention, and review considerations apply when a creative uses a user-supplied image of themselves?3. Is there an officially sanctioned format where user-contributed media is permitted vs. disallowed?Mainly want to get the consent and data-flow right from day one. Pointers to docs or pre

Hi everyone,I am experiencing a critical issue with the Unity Movement SDK on the Meta Quest 3, and I've noticed a few other developers mentioning the exact same problem recently. My project relies heavily on the Movement SDK, and it was working perfectly fine up until recently (around April 29th/30th). Suddenly, body tracking has completely stopped working. Here are the specific symptoms and the troubleshooting steps I've already taken:Persistent Crashes: The project now crashes consistently when hitting Play in the Unity Editor. It also crashes when I build and run it directly on the Quest 3.Older Builds Failing: I initially thought I broke something during a project update, but when I tested older, previously stable builds that had perfectly working body tracking, they also failed. My Setup:Device: Meta Quest 3 (Version 2.3.1034)Software: Meta Horizon Link (Version 201.0.0.73.547)Because older, untouched builds are now failing, this strongly suggests a bug or breaking change introduced
