Quest 3 stuck in an update boot loop

I own two Meta Quest 3 devices with Meta Warranty Plus coverage.

I am experiencing the endless boot loop with one of the devices as described in the following threads:

https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/QUEST-3-STUCK-ON-LOGO-AND-DOESN-T-START-UP/td-p/1111493

https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/My-Quest-3-is-stuck-in-bootloop-with-Turining-META-logo/td-p/1113431

https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/My-quest-3-won-t-launch-and-will-only-display-the-meta-logo/td-p/1138261

To summarize:

After power up, device displays "disk" logo with down arrow and green progress bar
After progress bar completes, meta logo appears, spins, fades, and repeats endlessly (have left device plugged in overnight with no progress)
Video of the above taken by my phone of my headset is posted here: https://youtube.com/shorts/qpD6hcmvSXw?feature=share

In answer to commonly requested questions from similar threads:

The issue began on 2024/02/12 at approx 8 PM EST.

The headset had been successfully paired with the Meta Quest app on my phone and had been in use since mid-January 2024.

The headset had previously updated apps.  I'm unaware if the OS and / or firmware had performed any updates.

No error messages have been displayed, only the behavior as described and linked in video above.

All accessories have been removed from the headset.

Headset was fully charged when the issue began, has been allowed to fully discharge, and has fully charged again (LED is green).  Issue persists.

Two factory resets have been performed via power button and - volume key combination.  Issue persists immediately after the reset with no successful boot.

Headset was purchased directly from Meta in January, has had no other owners and has been used with care and stored in appropriate conditions free of sunlight, excessive heat, etc.

I own the original device box with barcodes and serial numbers.

Please advise of steps to have this issue rectified.

Hi there! We are sad to hear that your VR experience has been interrupted by your Quest 3 headset not booting up completely. This is not the experience we want for you, and so we want to help provide some troubleshooting steps and resources to help get you back into VR as soon as possible. One reason that you may be experiencing this issue is due to a low battery charge on your headset. So if you have confirmed that the headset is fully charged (the LED light will turn green) after plugging in the headset for at least 2 hours, and if a factory reset did not help, then we ask that you please send us a PM so that we can collect some sensitive information and continue providing you with support. Please remember, you must be signed into the community first to send us a private message.

I had the same issue of reboot loop after firmware update. I am good now with a factory reset. Lost my apps/settings but feeling better that I do not have to return/replace my headset under warranty. Although it did not work in few 1st tries, I was able to factory reset from the menu (Power+Vol down) after few retries. No battery discharge and recharge was needed for my Quest 3.

ALL WITH THE ENDLESS BOOT LOOP just after new firmware update. I had the same issue with my Q3 and was helpless for 2 days. This is what worked for me. I was able to do a factory reset with holding the power+vol down button and then selecting the Factory Reset option from menu. I did not want to return the Q3 within warranty since I would be getting a refurbished. However I think refurbished would still be a new headset as Q3 was only launched within 1 year.

I lost count for the number of tries for the factory reset. I'll try again today though. Maybe something got pushed up....

Done every single thing suggested in the post by you and others including several dozen factory resets. turned off the unit using power/vol+ to select. then charged to 100% turned it on connected. shut off using P/V+. turned it on disconnected. factory reset again, sideloaded update using meta tool. turned on disconnected from everything. it turned on, "updated" with the chip download symbol, then bootlooped again.

this is clearly a firmware issue I cant touch without voiding the warranty so idk what to do at this point.

I am in the exact same boat. Which is why I am going to file a complaint with the BBB. It's not cool for all of us to be out of commission for something they broke and it's very obvious they don't care. Issue has been around AT LEAST since February. Seems depending when you get whatever update they pushed, then you will be getting an unwanted transformer - gaming machine transforms into a paperweight.

Quest 3 is garbage! I had the same problem on two units within 3 weeks! I regret buying this crap! I just wish I hadn't missed my return window!

Don't worry about replying now Meta. I've sent it back. I'll get another brand.

After regular delivered update to v71 (probably not the general issue for all), exact same issue. Screen tearing with video errors, critical error. Headset was vanilla state, 512GB. Additional attempted solutions after researching solutions:

*Wipe data/Factory reset
*Adb sideload flash same, older and newer firmware:

Nothing helped, 6 hours wasted, lost all data. Absolute dumpster fire. I Have all kinds of Android systems, including ADAS, nothing EVER bricked that hard. For NO apparent reason or verbosity.

Reddit, Youtube, the internet is flooded with this issue, and Meta doesn't have any insights in the knowledge base articles to reply?
