Obutto R3volution: ETA to warehouse for shipping - 10/31.. my eta is probably 2nd week of NovDK2: Status - Ready!! \o/ It seems that this batch has started shipping, so my estimated eta: 1st week of NovZOTAC ZT-90202 / GTX980: Ordered from NewEgg, estimated eta: 1st week of Nov (This is my first Zotac, anyone have any experience with em?)Still waiting on the Buttkicker Gamer2 to get in stock (and it'll have to wait for 2 more weeks  ).. but then, I'm almost set! The plan for the G2 is to have it mounted to the back of the Obutto seat; and then when I can afford it, I want to get 4 LFE's for the bottom of the cockpit  If everything goes to plan (as it has been for the last 2 months).. in 2 weeks I'll be ordering the gamer2, a Logitech G27, and a 4U server case + 12U server rack (to keep everything tidy due to moving to a cockpit rather than a desk). Pretty much other than the 4 LFE buttkickers and amp, a rackmount UPS and NAS, then I'll be set - until CV1 comes along :

Im planning on buying a oculus rift, but im pretty confused about it, so i have some questions. Can you only buy development kits? I cant find any place where it doesent say development kit.I dont have a problem with development kit since i make games myself and it would be awesome to try.If there is a "Non" development kit, and just the oculus rift, what is the different between the DK and the non-DK?Also the the DK2 costs 350 dollars on their site, but on ebay i can find it used to about 500-700 dollars?? why?Can i play every game optimized for the oculus rift on the DK2?I just dont want to buy the wrong thing.

PROCESSING!!, Ordered Oct 13, 2014 ))) Israel :D :D :D

Hello.Does anyone already use a headphone + subwoofer combination? Does it really work as well as it sounds?Since we are going to stick for headphones for CV1 and we still want the IMAX bass quality it could be the closet solution.I tried all headphone and nothing got as close as a home cinema for bass.Except a giant one, two huge square around 30cm^2 each that i tried in Hong Kong. Forget the name and brand but it was not for public consumer and costed around 2000 USD....Anyway, if you got a best practice/feedback for headphone + subwoofer pairing, please share it here, i'm sure a lot of people are interested. Thanks for your time.Simon

So i was browsing and found this: https://iwinks.org/ Anyone have any comments? Does it work even in theory?

So my gaming group that I've been a part of for a minute has decided to steer away from an entirely Altis Life group and now are a general gaming group. I'm one of the admins for both the website and the TeamSpeak server so I'm offering our TeamSpeak to those who game on the Oculus so we can all connect together. I'm usually on pretty late each night and tuesday/wednesday nights are my gaming nights. If you'd like to join or simply use our TeamSpeak for connecting with others, feel free to join at any time. I have created sub channels for those who are involved in specific games but also a general Oculus Gamers channel for those who just want to discuss whatever. If you are missing something from the server, such as a sub category that you would like to see, feel free to message me whenever you want. I'm usually at least on the server when I'm even AFKServer:TsdaL1.vilayer.com:4046Website:www.sagaming.net

Claim 1: This is the "Developer Center";Proof: Says it on the top.Claim 2: There are more than 140 000 members of the Developer Center's ForumProof: On the bottom it says: "Total members 141133"Claim 3: Every registered user is a developerProof: I had to disclose the name of the project I'm working on when I registered. By Claim 1, Claim 2 and Claim 3 I say there are more than 140 000 developers on this forum. This is very impressive! Is that how they come up with those numbers on their conferences? I'm just saying... :D

Hi,This seems an ideal type of game to play in the rift - is there anything on the PC that gives this experience within the rift that anyone is aware of ?Thanks.

Hello,Good morning everybody, I am a new comer in the forum.I am associated with a real state company named L.A. Exclusive Property.I think I shall be able to get a lot of knowledge about oculus rift from the forum.Thank you very much.

The Totem Kickstarter has been cancelled:https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2091603040/totem-the-premium-full-featured-virtual-reality-he/posts/1011285They say they're skipping the DK and going straight to a consumer release.

Hola

Are there any VR related kickstarters/indiegogos currently that are worth backing? I tend to miss these things, so i would appreciate some place where people can post them.

Tech demonstrated here:http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/projects/hyperlapse/What if during the "Path Planning" phase, the center of the video is shifted to make two images (even customized by IPD!), could the Hyperlapse technology be used to create a smooth stereoscopic video?

It seems the only topic that I can't find any information about on these forums is the imminentness and possibility for a commercially available unit for consumers. Is there any intent to provide a consumer unit? Is this just endless development for the sake of development? I see endless discussion of development kits but not a word about what a consumer available unit would even look like.It is very cool stuff but if you don't intend to sell it to the public this is a colossal waste of time and energy not to mention the 2 Bils that somebody at Google paid to buy this.I'm not a game developer or a computer nerd. I'm a consumer who's interested in buying the final product. However there does not seem to be a final product in the offing.

Edit: No longer needed.

Folks,Anyone using Oculus Rift in the classroom?I am teacher who is using Oculus Rift in a high school classroom. I have art students using blender working with programming students who are using the Unity Game engine. We (students and I) are excited about taking art and programming in to new directions. The kids are very excited and working hard on this project, which is great as we want our students to be both engaged and challenged. Do you know of any other high schools or middle schools using Oculus Rift in the classroom as part of a formal class? Thanks,

Whilst we were all busy with Oculus Connect, the dev's released their driver the PS4Eye camera.http://bigboss-eyetoy.blogspot.ca/Should be a good toy (although you have to hack up a USB3 cable to get it work with a regular PC), and will be interesting to see how it compares with Kinect.Simon.Edit: OK misread a little, this is a MacOS userland driver based on libusb. Linux port is yet to do...

It will be better if there a like option in any post of the forum.

So today, I noticed that I had a service call for a MFP (multi function printer).. the ticket stated that the unit had a ham. Now, I have seen some very strange things in my time as a tech, so, I got kind of excited. I mean.. really? A ham? Ok.. I have to see this.I got to the site, and there was no ham :( But there was a jam  /sigh.. the disappointment :\

Hey guys!Just got my Rift yesterday and have been lugging it around everywhere I go showing off some of the demos on my laptop. The reactions are overall pretty positive and can't wait to start getting my hands a little dirty working on it. (Probably when things calm down at work...)I did have an observation though and I was wondering if anyone else had noticed it.Now you have to understand, I don't remember the last time I had a dream. My job is pretty fun but very routine and after playing in the Rift for only about 30 minutes (all I could manage before I started feeling a little unwell) I had a night full of crazy detailed dreams that I can actually recall.Anyone else notice a difference in their sleep?

Hi Peeps,I'm new here. I will be ordering my rift soon. What I really want to know is about the programming. I see many different kits mentioned. Are there pros and cons to which one to use? My programming skills are mainly in C#, what would be the easiest transition to make? What kind of media can be used for this? Is it all 3D animation, or can you use photos, video?Todd

I have read a lot that VR would be much better with a curved screen. With this in mind maybe they should have a word with apple as they have one out on the market right nowhttp://betanews.com/2014/09/24/if-your-iphone-6-or-6-plus-bends-its-apples-fault/;)

Took me 6 hours yesterday to design a box in 3dsMax.. /sigh. Hopefully, the animation and UVMapping will go by a bit faster :?

Really awesome news. I couldn't find any thread about this on the forums, so there you go:https://github.com/OculusVR/RiftDK1....do you do make diy oculus rift dk1?or do you do post reverse engineer dk2 on github?do you are do have dk2 or dk1 and your make reverse engineer?
