Hey everyone, Since updating to v81 in the PTC program, it looks like you can’t install APK files on Quest headsets anymore. Before this update, sideloading third-party flat-to-VR apps worked fine, but now the install process is completely broken. The headset just won’t accept APKs, which blocks community apps, experimental builds, and testing outside the official store. Headset: Quest [ Quest 2/3/3s Xbox edition/Pro]Version: PTC v81Issue: APK sideload/install fails (third-party apps won’t launch)  If this is intentional, it’s a huge step back for developers and power users. If it’s a bug, hopefully Meta can get a fix out soon. Is anyone else running into this issue on v81? Has there been any official update from Meta on whether this is by design or just a bug? Thanks!

for pass like 2 weeks every time i try using Air Bridge it will say SystemUX is not working but not if i just use my router. i can use Virtual Desktop Streamer to bypass Meta Quest Link. roomscale is not working when im link to my pc if use VDS or Quest Link. can only think it was when i upgrade to Windows 11 like 3-4 weeks ago but i want back to 10 the next day and it was working

I have the post powerful laptop Dell has to offer. Dell Precision 7780 WorkstationProcessor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13950HX (2.20 GHz; 5.5Ghz Turbo) Installed RAM 128 GB (128 GB usable)System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processorGraphics: NVIDIA RTX 5000 ADA Generation Laptop GPU 16GB RAMI researched extensively to find the best headsets for use while traveling, as I cannot bring my monitors with me.  Used ChatGPT Pro5 with my specs and it suggested Quest 3.After troubleshooting with the technical department, they said it is not compatible as Meta does not recognize my GPU, even though it is exceedingly capable. A simple update could fix the issue, so here I am posting as I prepare my return and researching other competitors that don't have this issue.Please let me know if META is able to update its software to recognize a far more capable GPU in your software code, so I can utilize the device and keep it.

I moved countries from the United Kingdom to Ireland. I then got a euros gift card however I can no longer use the euros on the gift card because my balance is in GBP. 

I requested a return on a broken device still in warranty over 2 weeks ago and it has been over a week since Meta signed for delivery of the return, but it is still “awaiting delivery”. I’ve reached out to several people and they have all but acknowledged that it is lost, but they will not process the RMA, saying that I should wait and trust them while they will not provide a timetable for resolution.I see others have had this same problem. At what point do I put my foot down and explore legal options if they refuse to process the RMA? 

I’m trying to delete my meta account but don’t want to delete instagram after 90 days I’m trying to save Instagram I unliked my Instagram from meta account then hit delete meta account but never set up log in with meta and some how my. Meta email showing as a recovery email along with my ig email is their a way I can delete meta with out effecting my ig getting deleted for good after the 90 days

After leaving the headset unused for approximately one month, the charge drops from 100% to around 5%. I’m currently in an email thread that’s ongoing 30+ emails because no individual service employee can assist me, and there’s no phone number for direct assistance. Each time an agent sees your case, they will simply ask for information that you’ve likely already given, send the email saying “we’d love to prioritize this ONCE we get the information” and it’s funny because the information is always in the email they are replying to. From such company like Meta, I’m so disappointed in the lack of customer service options. A simple problem requires the assistance of 20+ different agents all doing the same thing: nothing. 

I'm trying to confirm my identity on my Meta account, but the account is linked to an old phone number I no longer have access to. If I try to change it to my new number, it sends an SMS to that old phone number.

Is it possible to use Hyperscape Capture to capture a space without a wifi connection, then upload it once WiFi is available? This would be great for capturing spaces away from home ?

i have a  quest 2 and a quest 3s do i have to buy the games again of can you gameshare... if can gameshare how do? i wanna give to my nephews and play with them. 

I don't know where else I can write my dissatisfaction with Facebook or Meta.I've been trying to find a solution for months, and they're not helping me. The developers are terrible and useless.I need help. A few months ago, my Instagram account was disabled for no reason. They didn't validate my appeal, and my account is still blocked. This means I can't log into my Facebook account. I need to log in. I need help! Developers, please fix this. No matter how hard I search your options, I don't see anything that can help me.

When I upgraded to v81 it asked to secure my profile with a pattern. The pattern screen was 3 rows with 3 dots on each row. I created a pattern and had to repeat it and it was approved. Now when I try to sign in the pattern is top row has 3 dots, middle row only has 2 dots spaced farther apart than the top outside dots and the third row has 3 dots spaced like the top. So I can’t draw the pattern that I created in the beginning. I can’t get in now!

I am having issues with my Quest 2 not pairing air link with my new PC. I built it and have all the latest drivers installed, I've tried factory resetting my Quest 2, resetting/rebooting my PC, router, modem, Meta Quest Link app on my PC and my Quest 2. I've tried turning off and on the air link, have bluetooth enabled, it's currently connected to my 5g wi-fi on my router ect and I cannot fathom on how to get this thing to air link my PC, all it does is "Searching for PC" but has no problem connecting to my desktop via remote desktop. I'm at my wit ends here.

Hi,I'm trying to be visible online to my friends but seems that my account results always offline I have tryed to change every social option inside the quest3 but nothing change.Also I have tryied to request support from the support portal but when I try to identify the device the serial that I see printed on it is not accepted as valid and I can't proceed with the direct contact request

I will tell the story I got on one day, and my headset crashed, so I powered it off It went through the update with the white meta logo with the progress bar THEN it went to a gray screen, then it bootlooped and reinstalled the update, then went to a gray screen and repeat's this. and yes I have factory resetted, and tried to update the software on a computer, and nothing works.

Hi, is there really no way to disable the sound that plays EVERY TIME you scroll using the analog stick?It's actually giving me a headache. I can no longer use the headset to browse the Internet for long periods of time. It legit ruined the product for me.

when im playing. my game just crashes and i get this notification. "Not enough memory to run *game / app name*". It started when i updated to PTC v81. Even on v81 stable it still happens.. Ive tried killing useless services and app that run in the backround. Restarted my quest 2 many times. Factory reseted it over 10 times this month. Nothing helped, so it has to be an issue with V81 and V81 PTC. And also when i boot and am doing nothing. Even useless services and apps in the backround killed. Its using more than 3gb of ram. 

i just got this issue last Thursday. search a lot of related information online, and found it was just a common issue since 2019.  the fact is when i turn on my quest 3, it just jump to usb update mode. no matter i choose boot device, factory reset, sideload update, it just reboot the device and then jump to usb update mode again. if i choose power off, it will turn on again and stuck here while i try to charge my quest3.  does it mean my quest 3 system was wiped out and only need to return it to meta for a fix? did anyone even solve this successfully before? appreciate for any answers.  Latest update on Feb/21/2024, thanks for all answers here. Finally, i contacted Amazon for a replacement. They got a very nice after-sale service. even i bought this for 2 months, they just asked me to deliever my faulty one back and sent me a brand new one immediately and i got it on the second day. 

Hi everyone,I’m having trouble with Meta’s verification process.When I click “Next” to receive the SMS verification code, I immediately get this error message:“Validation errorCode validation has failed. Please try again.”The problem is that the code is never sent — the error appears before any SMS is even delivered.Here’s what I’ve tried so far:Double-checked that my phone number is correct and includes the international prefix (+39 for Italy).Tried both the Meta mobile app and a desktop browser.Cleared cache and cookies, disabled VPN and browser extensions.I tested the same phone number with a different Meta account, and SMS codes arrive without any issue.So the problem seems to be linked to my main account, not the phone or carrier.Has anyone experienced this before?Is there any known solution or way to contact Meta support for this type of account-specific verification error?Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello my name is Darren,            I used to do troubling shooting of hardware equipment for a Point of Sale Company for over 22 years for a living, have an A+ certification many years ago.   Product = Quest2 128GB bought in 7/29/2022,  Issue = memory error - "Not enough memory to run xxx" , Occurrence Random = About 10-55min. Versionv81.xx  For about 2 weeks I also have the issue of "Not enough memory to run xxx", for instance running "Dungeons of Eternity". it happens about 10min-55min. in the game but most all the time when everyone is linked to go back to the starting area in the "D. O. E. " game,  after the fight,  where everyone makes it back, except me, sometimes, more often while someone is talking the APP crashes and I recover back to the Meta Home screen.  I've did some research on this using Gemini, it said that the heatsink fan may not be working so bought tools to take it apart checking to see if the fan was

I lost my phone that I registered the headset on, approximately 2 years ago, and now have a dumb phone ( i dont need a smart phone i get about 16 hours screen time as it is ). why am I not able to make certain purchases? the ones that I can, i have to go on the continue on browser bit and put my pin in then close the window and all is well. but recently nope. no dice. it needs to continue int he 'app' do i have to spend a couple of hundred quid on a phone that im not going to use, to be able to by apps.
