The Spatial Editor exports Compositions as .glxf files, which the Immersive Web SDK appears not to understand.  The constituent models are exported as .gltf file with the textures in .jpg files which can be used as AssetType.GLTF. What is the route to use Spatial Editor Compositions with the IWSDK?

Hi everyone! About 1.5 weeks ago (Sept 25) I applied to the Meta VR Start program and got the "Application Successfully Submitted" message (screenshot attached), but I haven't received any reply since. What confuses me: the application form still lets me submit again. I re-submitted today and got the same success message, so it looks like I can submit as many times as I want, with no "application already submitted" status. Is this a bug or normal behavior? Has anyone else seen this? And where does the acceptance usually arrive — by email or in the Developer Dashboard? Thanks!

Hi, I'm developing an app from Unity targeting Meta Quest headsets. I need to record the sound from the nearby however I can't figure out how to. I read the docs from the Voice SDK but it seems like it always sends the recordings to Wit.ai, which is not what I want. How would I go about simply reading sound data from the device, no transcription or anything?

Hello Meta Team,I am unable to complete Meta for Developers registration because I keep receiving this security message:“You can’t make this change right now. We noticed you’re using a device you don’t usually use.”My Facebook account is active and has no violations. I already reviewed my active sessions, confirmed that the suspicious login was mine, completed the security check, and tried from both my regular computer and mobile phone.I also tried different browsers and InPrivate mode, but the Developer registration is still blocked. The Meta Business Support page also often becomes completely blank after I sign in, so I cannot reach normal support. Please manually review my account and remove the security restriction that is preventing me from registering for Meta for Developers.I need Developer access to create a Meta App and connect my Instagram business account through the official API.Thank you.

There seems to be an issue with applying to the meta horizon start program. A few of my creators are seeing this error screen when click apply. I tested and have the same result (not sure if it’s because I’m already in the program).

I understand the game should be highly immersive and completely dependent on hand tracking; does pass-through game/app qualify under the official rules? I am doubtful whether it comes under the DEEPLY IMMERSIVE tag.

Hi everyone! This is Tevfik here, one of the Meta Start Program mentors. 👋If you’re working on a multiplayer VR app or game for the Meta Horizon Start Competition, I want to share something that might help you move faster.I’ve been building and using FlameCore, a Unity Social VR template. I already shipped 2 Social VR titles with this template. The idea is simple:Spend less time setting up infrastructure. Spend more time building your experience.FlameCore already gives you a starting foundation for things like:Multiplayer with Photon FusionMeta Quest platform/entitlement setupPlayFab backend integrationNetworked player foundationA working project and scene structure you can build on top of You absolutely don’t have to use it, and it won’t fit every project. But if you’re starting a multiplayer experience and would rather not build all of this from zero during the competition, I’m happy to share it.This is an open invite to anyone in the Start community participatin

I downloaded Unreal 5.8 from the Oculus Unreal fork. And then I also added the Meta XR Platform Version 207.0 to a new project for Unreal5.8. But when I have the MetaXRPlatform plugin enabled, Unreal Editor crashes everytime as soon as I launch play or simulate. Disabling the plugin does remove the crash.Has anyone encountered this issue as well? The log is very vague, and doesn't really say much 26.10.05-19.01.55:126][473]LogMRUK: Loading MR Utility Kit Shared library [2026.10.05-19.01.55:338][473]LogMRUK: Global context initialized successfully [2026.10.05-19.01.55:493][473]LogOvrPlatform: Display: UOvrPlatformSubsystem::Initialize [2026.10.05-19.01.55:519][473]LogOvrPlatform: Warning: Could not find 'RiftAppId' key in engine config. Hi all, I'm a solo dev in the Start Developer Competition (Entertainment, Adapted). I built Summer Cycle VR, a seated, hands-only bike ride that runs in Quest Browser, but I don't own a headset, so everything was built and tested in the Immersive Web Emulator.Could anyone with a Quest 2, 3 or 3S spare two minutes?Open this in Quest Browser: https://starknightt.github.io/summer-cycle-vr/?xrfps=1Press Enter VR and rest your hands on the handlebarsTry steering, pinch to brake, ring the bell, and pinch the small sun above you and drag it downWhat would help most:The fps number shown on screen, and which headsetDid grabbing the bars and the pinch brake feel reliable?Anything that felt uncomfortable or confusingHappy to test your project in return in the emulator or give feedback on your build. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I’m Greg, creator of Toweris VR. We’re entering the Meta VR Start Developer Competition, and I’m starting a developer diary to share the work behind our build.Toweris began with a simple puzzle idea: wrap match-3 around a cylindrical tower. Our early mobile prototypes never felt quite right. In VR, reaching out and spinning the tower made the idea feel natural. For this competition, we’re focusing on getting Toweris ready for Early Access rather than building a separate competition feature. That means working on how clearly players can spot matches, how the hand interactions feel, and what testing shows us needs to change.I’ll share progress, decisions, and problems we run into along the way. For those who have shipped a Quest game: what do you wish you had tested earlier?

I need to make decision for what kind of glasses I really should choose for my use. I’m exploring and testing AR experiences. Witch one would you recommend based on developer access or other available tools?I need to hear from someone with hands on experience. Can’t wait to try this out.

Hi everyone. I am investigating a first launch issue in my project (One Shot Beat) where the game appears to stop during startup, usually while Unity is performing its initial graphics/ shader warmup. Our diagnostics show that, until the final recorded moment, Unity and the headset’s XR rendering are still responsive. The leading suspicion is therefore a failure or termination shortly afterward, somewhere in the cold start graphics/ initialization path but the exact cause is not yet confirmed. What we can rule out is:- It is not limited to one headset model; we’ve seen the pattern on Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest 3S.- It is not simply the Unity thread freezing before the last recorded sample.- It is not solely caused by a missing shader/PSO cache, because the same pattern has occurred with a cache already present.- We currently have no evidence proving an ANR, out of memory kill, thermal issue, or one specific GPU crash.Has anyone experienced a similar problem before? Apparently 1/3 of my

For Meta VR Glasses, what is the fixed optical/accommodative focal distance of the virtual image, measured from the eye?Could you provide it in meters and/or diopters?I am asking about the physical optical focal plane of the micro-OLED + pancake optical system, not the rendered vergence distance of virtual content. For example, is the display optically collimated to infinity, 2 m (0.5 D), 1.3 m (~0.77 D), etc.?Is the focal distance fixed, or does the system have any varifocal/multifocal capability?

In the Meta Quest Developer Hub, we are trying to link, but there is a version mismatch: v206 for the headset vs v205 for the PC. Where can I download v206 for PC?

Hey everyone,I’m posting this from a separate account to ask about my main Meta account issue. My Meta Quest headset is STILL logged into my main account right now. I never got logged out on the headset itself. I tried deleting/removing the old phone number directly from inside the Quest headset settings, but it does nothing. I found out the headset only controls local device info and CANNOT edit or remove the account-level two-factor authentication stored on Meta’s servers. Meta’s own docs confirm you can’t turn off or modify 2FA from the headset. The problem is that I’m trying to log into my main Meta account on browser / other devices. I still have full access to the registered email, and I can complete the password reset flow using that email. But at the final step to set a new password, it still requires SMS 2FA sent to my old phone number, which I no longer have access to.I’ve tried Meta’s built-in support options, but it’s just a huge Catch-22 loop. Every support link I click just

Hi, I have an idea for a new product for meta but it won’t let me onto links I’ve found for the ideas board. I don’t want any credit or anything just would like to talk to someone and hope for it to get created.

This project was created out of the frustration that all MacOS VR virtual screen software (Meta Quest Remote Desktop, Immersed) are proprietary pieces of software. If I have code recording my screen, I want to know what it is actually doing.PippinVR can cast multiple screens from a Mac into a virtual space. It also has the ability to overlay the screens in passthrough, or cycle through settings with "B" (top button on a Meta Quest controller). The screens can be moved with the controller and placed individually.Zooming in and out of the virtual screen space using forward in back with the controller sticks is supported.Menubar and taskbar icons are used so that you can easily shutoff the application when MacOS is stuck in virtual screen mode.A settings menu can be used the configure the screens, with a default configuration file being placed in ApplicationSupport upon installation.Dynamic framerate of each virtual screen conserves bandwidth using the wire.PippinVR supports as many displ

I have a question regarding registration for the Start Program. When I click the link and am prompted to log in, I am redirected to the developer account, and then I see a screen asking me to start registering my application. Is this correct, or is there an issue that needs to be fixed?

Hi!I am creating a VR game build for Quest 3 (Android standalone), using Unreal Engine 5.7.4 and the MetaXR plugin (version 1.205.0).It works perfectly on PC, but the Android build for Quest 3 appears dark and shows artifacts: the game runs (sounds play and objects are partially visible, but dark), but the screen is filled with pixelated vertical black lines (jagged edges/aliasing) and artifacts. However, a text widget displays correctly.AFAIK, I´m using all recomended settings for Quest 3 build. Made a dozen changes and test builds, always with the same result. Any hint? Thanks in advance!!!

I'm a game developer for 10 years and I've built and launched Squatopia in 2024 using Unity. I've seen Mark Zuckerberg's 2026 Connect Keynote speech and it wowed me how he was able to see Boz's full body in VR. I was wondering if we can incorporate that into Squatopia's sequel: Squatopia 2, which will be my entry for Meta VR Start program. This is my first time building a multiplayer game and I was wondering where best to start and if my idea of real-life avatars is even possible.I'm taking inspiration from Gorilla Tag for multiplayer aspect, and Hades for the rougelike mechanics. Locomotion will be custom-built hand-tracking.

Adding another data point to the ongoing Developer Mode enablement / "Unexpected Error" investigation (ref: investigation 1140973032424639), because I appear to be a textbook case and I've run out of steps the documentation asks for.Toggling Developer Mode in the Meta Horizon phone app returns "Unexpected Error - please make sure your headset is connected to Wi-Fi and updated to the latest OS version." It is on Wi-Fi. OS is up to date. The error fires, every time, and has for weeks.I ruled out the obvious things first:Developer organization created; I'm the admin.Account verified with SMS two-factor - after the SMS system made me request the code four times, which turned out to be a fitting preview of the day.Headset on the latest public OS build.Headset shows Connected (green) in the app; correct account signed in across the headset, the app, and the dashboard.App permissions (Nearby Devices, Location), phone Bluetooth, and Location services all enabled.Cleared the app cache, full pow

Hi everyone,I’ve noticed an issue with Meta Quest 3 controller tracking after upgrading from UE5.6 + Meta XR Plugin v85.0 to UE5.8 + Meta XR Plugin v207.0.When using the Epic Native OpenXR API, the controllers have an approximately 45° rotational drift/offset. This issue does not occur with the previous setup using the Meta XR OVRPlugin API.My current relevant component hierarchy is:Capsule Component → Motion Controller Component → XR Device Visualization ComponentAll components are using their default Transform values.Has anyone experienced a similar issue after upgrading? Is there anything specific I should check or configure differently when using the Native OpenXR API?Thanks!
