I'm trying to use the Check Submission tool, using a .zip instead of an .apk (because is a PC application) but it keep saying "does not appear to be a valid APK" "Dump failed because no AndroidManifest.xml found". So I'm a bit confused. Is needed androidmanifest.xml for a PC build?

Hello,I was using an old v0.8 SDK and I decided to apply the newest SDK. I have encountered many errors and crushed most of them, but one last issue bothers me to run my application. When I try to compile LibOVRKernel project on VS2013, it says it cannot find OVR_ThreadCommandQueue.cpp and .h files. As it says, I couldn't find them from the downloaded SDK directory. They should be in LibOVRKernel\Src\Kernel, but they aren't. I also tried to remove them from the Solution Explorer and got new errors such as    error C2039: 'thread' : is not a member of 'std' (..\..\..\Src\Util\Util_LongPollThread.cpp)for some codes, for instance,    std::unique_ptr<std::thread> WatchdogThreadHandle; In the meantime, VS generates another errors regarding a class named _Pad defined in xthread.1>C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\VC\include\thr/xthread(172): error C4265: 'std::_Pad' : class has virtual functions, but destructor is not vir

Recently I converted my project from 4.11 to 4.13I heard that 4.13 version is built in oculus platform SDK.I packaged my project and then play project. When I take rift cv1 off , My game is paused at the monitor screen, but my game is playing in the background.I put on rift again. My game character is moved far away. When I pressed Oculus remote home button, Situation is same.I think that pause system doesn't work.Is there any solution that pause my game when I take rift  off on my head or detect taking off rift ?and I have a hard time to apply Entitlement check in C++ code Is there anyone who teach me kindly?  Thank you for reading.

Hello I don't know how to use entitlement check function in the 4.13 unreal engine. This is the first time to use entitlement check function. I added to the DefaultEngine.ini[OnlineSubsystem]DefaultPlatformService=Oculus[OnlineSubsystemOculus]bEnabled=trueOculusAppId="1111111111111111"and then I edited projectName.build.cspublic class RunningJoe : ModuleRules{ public RunningJoe(TargetInfo Target) { PublicDependencyModuleNames.AddRange(new string[] { "Core", "CoreUObject", "Engine", "InputCore", "OnlineSubsystem" }); PrivateDependencyModuleNames.AddRange(new string[] {  }); // Uncomment if you are using Slate UI // PrivateDependencyModuleNames.AddRange(new string[] { "Slate", "SlateCore" }); // Uncomment if you are using online features PrivateDependencyModuleNames.Add("OnlineSubsystem"); // To include OnlineSubsystemSteam, add it to the plugins section in your uproject file with the Enabled attribute set to true }}finally I used verify entitlement function l

I have Leap motion and attach the FPS arms to the OVRPlayer controlller. Now i want to be able to use Leap Motion to control the FPS arms, is it possible? How do you do it?

Hi,Does Oculus have a minimum recommended AMD CPU for testing performance on min spec machines?  I know that single-threaded performance is the most important factor, but it's unclear what the "i5-4590 equivalent" would be that we should test against.  Or is it sufficient to test only the i5-4590?Thanks!

I'm not sure what's going on.  My engine worked flawlessly for a long time.  Then all of a sudden it won't initialize the Rift.  It fails on ovr_CreateTextureSwapChainDX with -1004 (ovrError_NotInitialized).  However, I previously called ovr_Initialize and ovr_Create which both succeeded.  I also passed a swap chain structure and device to ovr_CreateTextureSwapChainDX.  I'm using DX11.  Here's some code to show what I'm passing: texture_swap_chain_desc.Type = ovrTexture_2D;texture_swap_chain_desc.ArraySize = 1;texture_swap_chain_desc.Format = OVR_FORMAT_R8G8B8A8_UNORM_SRGB;texture_swap_chain_desc.Width = buffer_size.w;texture_swap_chain_desc.Height = buffer_size.h;texture_swap_chain_desc.MipLevels = 1;texture_swap_chain_desc.SampleCount = 1;texture_swap_chain_desc.StaticImage = ovrFalse;texture_swap_chain_desc.MiscFlags = ovrTextureMisc_DX_Typeless;texture_swap_chain_desc.BindFlags = ovrTextureBind_DX_RenderTarget;I've inspected the buffer_size,

How do I "apply" for oculus touch. I know oculus is giving them to devs for free. I am a Dev and I would really like them for my game.

I just need to see 1 - ONE app in the Oculus Store that is not a Concept and/or Free app that starts with a "Unity Free" or "Unity Community" or "Unity Personal" edition splash screen. I'm starting to think that part of the reason my app and a lot of other peoples apps are not getting approved for the Store is because of the License we are using, and I really hope that isn't the case as Unity lets us Publish with those licenses and to see the app be rejected by Oculus because of it would be a real beef with Unity and Indie developer community who qualify to use that license type (making under 100k a year in revenue).

I got a product for making VR game. it has a character controller with a body. you can walk/run and rotate but that's about it. It is not based on OVR utilities  So can't do the if (OVR.Input etc). Do i have to map the buttons using the Edit/Project Setttings/Input Manager?and then to check i would do if( Input.getButton(Button.three) )  etc etc?is that how it works?

Just shoving assets into a plane/terrain and a couple of houses doesn't quite do it . It looks lacking. Seems as though you have to really put alot of detail.  Then the boundaries of the level. So far what i have done is put wooden fences all around. but that looks bad

Hello there I have a question. I'm developed project with Unreal Engine ofr(oculus forward renderer) 4.12.My project objects isn't affected shadow of directional light.I fixed ClusteredBasePassRendering.h and ClusteredShadingCommon.usfIt doesn't work. How do I enable casting shadow on the object in 4.12 version?Thank for reading.

Hello. I developed VR project. I will submit my project to oculus store. I developed project using unrealEngine-4.11 ofr that released by oculus team. My project need fog effect. But unrealEngine-4.11 ofr version doesn't support AtmosphericFog. And so I use ExponentialHeightFog that is supported.  When I used ExponentialHeightFog, My game screen color is turned yellow like screen shot I attached. Is there any solution? or What Did I Do Wrong? st

I'm not creating a VR system from scratch. I'm using a VR system i bought at the unity store. It works with Leap motion and it was even made and used before Orion software came into the picture and it worked. Do i have to install Orion software even if i'm not developing the VR software myself from scratch? And secondly can leap motion work for oculus rift VR games,  even if i don't attach it to the Oculus Rift? Can i just put it on my desk?

I'm saying this because soon i will be getting Leap motion for the rift and from what it shows you add another cable around the oculus cable. it'd be a hassle to have to put everything back in their boxes especially if you're gonna develop everyday.

I have/bought a system where you have a VR body. An avatar. I want to be able to see myself in mirrors. How do you make a mirror in Unity in a simple way? I saw a tutorial but it's quite complex and it doesn't work from all angles. Is there a MIRROR/GLASS material that actually works?

I have environments and some parts of them constatntly flash like rapid blinking lights.  Some textures on the ground also change lighting at times. like it'd be a bright day but when you get closer that part of the ground turns darker all of the sudden. And this doesn't happen if i run the same game without VR in the regular monitor. I'm using Oculus Rift CV1 and unity 5.4

Hello,I recently tried to update some old "0.6" app to the new "1.3" drivers - it's a seated experience where the user can look at various UI elements to 'click' them. For this, I lock the cursor in the middle via Cursor.lockState and just use the standard Unity UI (with in-world Canvas). Everything worked fine before, and still work in the editor - but not once built. With a built app, if I have both the Oculus API and "Virtual Reality Support" enabled (in Unity's player options), the LockState stay at "none" - whatever my scripts try to do. Removing the Oculus plugin or unchecking "VR Supported" put thing back to normal, but then the Oculus doesn't work. This is very problematic because it make the whole "look at a button to press it" concept very uncomfortable, as it force the user to manually center his cursor at the app's start (and moving accidentally your mouse mess up everything). This problem appear even on a new, nearly empty project with just the Oculus plugin an

Hi, this might be a super stupid question, but from the Oculus Touch model, I can only find a middle finger trigger that can be mapped as a "shoulder button" or "hand trigger", however, it's hard to image a "button" also functions as an analog trigger.

So that you can do actions to the object like grab it, toss it etc.Like say a door knob. if( Rift center of sight is looking stratight at me and user presses some button on the xbox controller)       toggle lock or unlock door****But i want only the closest object to be affected, if there are object in the line of sight but are behind other objects that are in the line of sight, they shouldn't react to anything.

Could you release the source code of libOculusMediaSurface.so in the SDK Examples (1.3.0)? We want to modify some configuration of GL&Shader setting.

Does it matter in what order I change the drivers? For example should I remove the amd drivers first, reverting back to integrated gpu > pull old gpu > put in new one > install the latest drivers for the gtx; in that order, or does it even matter? May be a bit of a stupid question, but I'm curious.

The basic terrain grass of Unity makes the framerate go down considerably. I discovered that. at first i thought it was the speed trees but no it wasn't. I deleted the grass and the framerate came back to normal. Well who knows if the trees too. but the grass definintely . Is there a workaround? or should i just not use grass?

Is it true that if you put a Nose, there is less motion sickness? I read an article about it

I'm trying to get my Unity app ready for submission. I'm using Unity version 5.3.5p5 and Oculus Utilities for Unity 5 V1.5.0. I've gotten the needed back button functionality working, but for the life of me I can't figure out the required volume UI. In the utilities, there's a VolumeController prefab under Moonlight that's missing a script, though I thought I've read other things are supposed to be supplying the Volume UI (OVRManager?). Nothing has worked so far. I even tried the Oculus Sample Framework for Unity 5 Project Oculus provides, but that doesn't have the volume UI working in it either. So I don't even have a working version to work back from.Does anyone have any idea how to get the Volume UI working in 1.5.0? All the help online I've been able to find seems to refer to earlier version of the Oculus utilities and scripts that no longer exist.
