Solved

Hi there :)I've developed VR applications professionally for B2B in Unity for a couple of years now - Gear VR, Vive, and Rift. It's my first time developing for the Oculus Quest, amazing device. I've easily and successfully been able to build directly to the device, and already made a working custom interaction framework in no time using Unity's XR Input system without the Oculus Integration asset in the project whatsoever.I was wondering if using the Unity Integration asset is actually obligatory? I'm quite confident that I can make all the interaction needed on my own, but what if I hope to release something on the store one day?If so, what are in fact the required parts of the asset package?

I included a very simple animation in a home template - a platform going up and down. All indications were that the template validated but 'oculus' wouldn't accept it. Is there something subtle that I'm missing?

Short version: Is anyone doing Guest development on macOS with Unity or Unreal, and if so can you provide basic guidance on getting your dev environment setup?Long version:  My Quest is in the mail and I’d like to start exploring development options. I’m getting started in Oculus development and would like to avoid buying a Windows machine or relying exclusively on Parallels (or a Windows VM). While I’ve found some barebones guidance on working with Unity and Oculus via Mac its vague as to whether this will be applicable for the Quest.If this is a simple RTFM [and here’s a link to it] then that would be appreciated too! A few solid directions should be all I need (famous last words).

Hi everyone. Anyone knows a way to get the email of the user of your app?

Hey, I'm wondering if I get device and will try to develop a game, is it possible to deploy it to Quest and run it for testing or do I need some developer version of Quest?

After uploading a Rift build to Oculus with 'ovr-platform-util upload-rift-build', I see a "Code" field on the Oculus dashboard attached to the build. Is this value under control of the developer? I would like to pass my own value for "Code" as an argument to ovr-platform-util upload-rift-build. Note: I am not referring to -v. I am already passing that argument.

I keep getting this error when I try to upload my FIRST build to the alpha channel.  I even made a new app in developer.oculus.com with zero builds submitted, created a new keystore and rebuilt, resigned and resubmitted it and I keep getting that error.  Whether I use the CLI or the GUI (via developer.oculus.com), it uploads and during step 2 (validating) it fails with that error.In my player settings under "Other Settings", I have Version* set to 0.1, and Bundle Version Code set to 1.Full steps I took:1. Create new keystore:keytool -genkey -keystore ta.keystore -alias ta -keyalg RSA -validity 365002. Set this keystore in Unity under Player Settings -> Publishing Settings -> Check "Use Existing Keystore" -> Browse button -> selected ta.keystore.  Then under the "Key" section, clicked dropdown and selected "ta" alias and entered password.3. Built app called abuild1.apk4. Signed the apk via:jarsigner -verbose -sigalg SHA1withRSA -digestalg SHA1 -keystore C:\MyA

I had videos working fine recently, but as of late I get this error after the video is playing for a few seconds:"Media Foundation : The current media has type changed for one or more streams in file : C:/Users/foler123/AppData/LocalLow/DTX/otherfolder123/ourvideo.mp4"What I gather is for some reason the media type is getting updated or changed, but since the video starts playing fine, it seems like the type should be supported.  Any leads or recommended documentation would be appreciated.  Thanks all!(I changed folder names for security... that's not my actual file structure :P)Unity version: 2018.2.0f2

I've been testing the OVR prefabs (PlayerController etc..) and the OVR grabber scripts.Couldn't get it to work properly in 2018.3.11f1 or builds after 2018.3.0f2.I used the same process to build an avatar with grabber hands, works in 2018.3.0f2 but doesn't in 2018.3.11f1CheersJim

I have followed the tutorial at https://developer.oculus.com/blog/easy-controller-selection/ and succesfully got a Laser Pointer to interact with world-space UI canvases, but the laser beam (from OVRPointerVisualiser) attached to my controllers goes through the canvas, despite working for interaction.Is there a simple way to allow the laser pointer beam to 'collide' with the canvas to display a dot or ring moving along the canvas panel surface, instead of just travelling through the canvas? I know I can adjust the length of the laser beam but I have UI panels at different depths so need the laser beam to display a dot at different depths per each canvas.

I'm kind of confused as to what I need to be using when developing in Unity, as far as I can tell The current Oculus Integration on the Unity Store is supposed to be the combination of some of the SDK downloads here, kind of a single source for all.  When I go through different blog posts or YouTube videos (both official and otherwise for both) there's a lot of reference to Utilities, and the scripts that they reference are not part of the Integration.  Obviously, since utilities are still listed as a download here, I could always just use that, but I also see that it's not going to be updated, only the stuff on the unity store is which is just Integration.  So I suppose I should learn the new stuff, but the materials I'm using to learn with are not "translating" well.

Our app has conditionals that check which platform it is being run on.  We have other apps set up similarly that work fine and detect the right platform and controller.  In this particular app, when we load it up on the Go headset, it displays the gearVR controller.  This isn't a huge issue except for the fact we have to display the correct one to pass the Oculus store checklist.  Any fixes would be great.  We are using the CrossVRmanager to handle the controllers.  I've even gone so far as to put in the OculusGo prefab in most of the fields for gearVR controller, still nothing.  Appreciate the time and help, anyone!

Hi,I get OpenGL to work but I dont know how to get the Oculus SDK 1.32 to work with OpenGLI get a problem with textureSwapChain = 0; swap_chain_desc = {}; swap_chain_desc.Type = ovrTexture_2D; swap_chain_desc.ArraySize = 1; swap_chain_desc.Format = OVR_FORMAT_R8G8B8A8_UNORM_SRGB; swap_chain_desc.Width = renderTargetSize.w; swap_chain_desc.Height = renderTargetSize.h; swap_chain_desc.MipLevels = 1; swap_chain_desc.SampleCount = 1; swap_chain_desc.StaticImage = ovrFalse;If(ovr_CreateTextureSwapChainGL(session,&swap_chain_desc,&textureSwapChain) == ovrSuccess)Where textureSwapChain = 0 that means NULL.I cant get anything from the function it doesnt even pass the if statement. What is wrong?My code is the following:int Hmd::init_framebuffers(){// Framebuffers //----------------------------------------------- // In order to display, it has to be "complete" (at least 1 color/depth/stencil buffer attached, 1color attachement,

i am using unity 2018.1.of2 and i'm developing for the oculus go. which sdk should i use? please include link in answer. thank you! []-)

Finally managed to get my project running using stock launcher UE 4.21.1 (using Launch on Device Editor's functionality).Noticed that my fake decal material that works fine in the ES2 preview, doesn't work on Go with ES3.1:In the Editor:On the device:With ES2 on the device:Has anyone had issues with using DepthFade in materials for projects on Gear VR / Go (ES3.1) ? Do I need to enable an option for it to work or is it not supported at all ?Thanks

I'm currently at university and I need to create a VR game in unity however, I can't just create and test while at university on an actual Oculus, does anyone know of any programs or pieces of software that could emulate an Oculus or VR experience on a PC without the actual device?

Greetings to the community :) I am currently running a simple console script in C++ that prints the HMD tracking data (which will eventually be sent over UDP for an app we are developing), with the intention that I will be able to obtain this data while a game is being run. I am using Visual Studio 2017 with SDK 1.30.0. However when running the script Oculus seems to be seeing it as an app and prompting me to quit it before turning on another game. How can I work around this? Many thanks,Joey

I am a complete starter. I want to enable jumping function on the OVRPlayerController.I tried, but it does not work. Please take a look at this and let me know what went wrong. T.Tpublic bool Jump() {        bool Jump = Input.GetKey(KeyCode.Space);        if (OVRInput.GetDown(OVRInput.Button.PrimaryIndexTrigger))        {            Jump = true;        }        if (Jump)            MoveThrottle += new Vector3(0, transform.lossyScale.y * JumpForce, 0);        if (Jump)            MoveThrottle = (1f + JumpForce) * MoveThrottle;        return true; }

Has anyone had problems with Oculus Go adb drivers causing the the directory drive for the Go to disappear, after installing the adb drivers? I installed the 1.0 version of the adb drivers and now the drive for the Go vanishes from my computer, so I can no longer access the Go's directory folders. I tried uninstall/delete the Oculus adb drivers from the Device Manager and this did not fix the issue. I had to do a complete system restore on my computer to resolve the problem causing my Go drive to disappear. I attempted to connect the Go with the Android adb but it did not find the Go under listed devices. I'm wondering if this has to do with the issue I'm having with the Oculus adb driver.Has anyone had success connecting the Go with the Android adb?

We are having some issues, please provide assistance :-)1.VRC.Mobile.Functional.1Progression Blocker: *This issue only occurs on the GEAR Steps to reproduce: 1. The user boots the app. 2. Progresses to the main menu 3. Selects any available option within the main menu 4. The game automatically shuts down and displays the following text: "Escape Legacy has closed unexpectedly".-As i've read of ue4 oculus forum this is related from gearvr input crash. As it plays well on GO. Is there any quick Fix on this Issue?-If there's no quick fix at this time, can we Just Uncheck GEAR VR and have only GO enabled, until it's resolved so we can check GearVR again?2. VRC.Mobile.Input.3Nothing occurs when the user presses the back button. The app should either go back one level within the UI or display a menu with an option to quit the app.-We attach some images, so you can understand our setup. It's simple and working on PC (mapped on keyboard for testing) . But on GO it won't Fire, maybe the console

Dear community, I attempted to receive UDP packets using the following code.However, the following exceptions are occurring when I launch the application on oculus go.Is there anyone in the same situation?Please tell me the solution.Unity 2018.1.8f1Exception:System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted at (wrapper managed-to-native) System.Net.Sockets.Socket:RecvFrom_internal (intptr,byte[],int,int,System.Net.Sockets.SocketFlags,System.Net.SocketAddress&,int&) at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.ReceiveFrom_nochecks_exc (System.Byte[] buf, Int32 offset, Int32 size, SocketFlags flags, System.Net.EndPoint& remote_end, Boolean throwOnError, System.Int32& error) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.ReceiveFrom_nochecks (System.Byte[] buf, Int32 offset, Int32 size, SocketFlags flags, System.Net.EndPoint& remote_end) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.Net.Soc

Hello everyone,as stated in the question, I have a big problem that all the objects that are instantiated from a prefab during runtime, are not showing up in the scene on my oculus go. Previewing the scene inside the editor, everything is rendered normally. When I drag the same prefab directly into the scene, its also showing when running on my device. I have no clue whats causing this, but I hope that any1 can help me solve this issue.Danny

Greetings everyone. I'm currently porting an app to Gear VR / Oculus Go and am trying to get scrolling working so that when the user points the controller at a 3D GameObject, they can scroll on the touchpad and IScrollHandler events will be sent to the script on that object that implements IScrollHandler.When I first found that this wasn't working, I assumed that I had misconfigured something, because I could see that there was code in OVRInputModule that executed IScrollHandler events, and there are public options on that script related to scrolling. Digging in deeper, however, I have come to the conclusion that scrolling is not supported for Gear VR / Oculus Go, and that IScrollHandler events are only implemented for an actual mouse and for a gamepad controller. Can anyone please confirm that this conclusion is correct? Here's what I found in OVRInputModule that led me to that conclusion:- IScrollHandler events are only executed when leftButtonData.buttonData.scrollDelta.sqrMagn
