I'm getting the users information with the script below. The id it returns is the id listed on the game API section under userid. See image.  420************** However when i authenticate with Oculus from my web site it returns a different number. 659************How do I get my app to not use this application specific id for debugging and testing?    void Start() { // First thing we should do is perform an entitlement check to make sure // we successfully connected to the Oculus Platform Service. When uploading a build to the developer hub, you can mark assets as required. If you don't mark assets as required, they will not be downloaded. Are non required asset files never downloaded? Or is there a way to download them. In one of my builds, 3 asset files keep getting marked as non required, and I need to figure out how to get them to download in an update or something. Marking them as required, in the developer hub, does not seem to make them download on subsequent updates.

In Unreal Engine, when using XR API: "OVRPlugin OpenXR" setting in the OculusVR plugin, I am experiencing a bug where the Y button on the left hand controller triggers the same button mapping as the menu button on the left hand controller.I have checked my Blueprint files and my Unreal Engine Input Mappings and I have two separate mappings for the left controller Y button and menu button. But, when I press the Y button, it also triggers the mapping for the menu button. When I press only the menu button, the behavior is correct. Specifically the Y button triggers the mapping for itself and additionally the mapping for the left hand menu button. This does not happen when I use the XR API, "Legacy OVRPlugin", which has the correct behavior.Does anyone know how to remedy this?I specifically would like to use the "OVRPlugin OpenXR" XR API so I can get access to the MR passthrough feature, but sadly this is breaking my button mappings.I am on v35 of the Oculus Unreal Engine integration o

I made a Quest 2 VR experience for a client. There are points in the experience where there are negative framerate spikes. I found out that the spikes are when shaders are first seen in a given level. Is there a way to pre cache the shaders?

When would the passthogh api be available to Unreal Engine? Every documentation I found was for Unity.Would it be added to Unreal Engine anytime soon?I really don't want to switch to Unity for this and recreate my project.

So, I have an excel project that I'm working on from home. Figured I'd try the new desktop feature on the quest to work on my computer. Drew in the keyboard area. I could have sworn last time I was playing around with this; the quest created a passthrough of the table I was at last time. But there was just a surface, nothing on it. Whatever, it's not like I'm not fluent on a keyboard, but least I had an idea where it would be. Well, I tried to load up Virtual desktop. I noticed both my hands disappeared and so did the desk. I knew my hands were being tracked because I could activate the home command with my fingers. Whatever, I figure, what to expect from a third party to not support this. I switched to cable link via built in app. It said this app is not available with desk on. Tried the airlink, same thing, not available with desk on. What's the point if I can't work on my computer?

I have installed ODH 1.6 but when I try to open it, it just shows a blank window. No opportunity to login or do anything.  Running the Oculus software for windows shows that my Quest 2 is connected over USB 3 and working correctly. I've tried re-installing ODH, running it as administrator with no luck. Am I missing some piece of software or is there any log I can examine to give me some clue as to the problem?

I've been developing a VR space shooter game for the better part of a year now, and I've finally taken a good look at the OVR metrics tool for measuring performance.Unfortunately, I've found that even when material batching everything in the game, I routinely struggle to reach 60 FPS whenever terrain is switched on. It looks like I'm coming to a decision point between dropping terrain from this game (ie: making everything happen in space) so I'm wondering if the Oculus Store fill flat out reject the game if it fails to achieve 72 fps (note: I haven't tried SpaceWarp  yet; looking to add it to my project once it's a bit more stable). Video here (at substantially higher graphics settings than the planned quest version)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoC-xfeNZ84

Hi!When you create a new app - you have to decide between the app lab and the store. If I choose the store way in the beginning - can I switch to app lab later during the development and vice versa?Does somebody know? The app is for Oculus Quest 2.Thanks.

I'm a new developer within FB, and I can't use our own internal tooling because I cannot change my Oculus account password. I connected my Facebook account to my Oculus account. Now I use Facebook credentials to log into my Oculus account. I cannot log into my Oculus account using tools that require the Oculus password, and there is no way to change the Oculus password (the PIN does not act as a substitute). Example: This is a blocking issue. I can't submit builds without this getting resolved.

I’m working on a VR multiplayer project that relies on dedicated servers, and whenever I connect to a dedicated server with a VR player, it crashes.I’ve done this test with Desktop clients connecting, and there’s no issue. Also tested this on other projects and even tried using Oculus’ source build of 4.27.The way I found that it was related to the Oculus plugin was running a debugger on a debug server build, which crashed and showed an error on the FOculusHandTracking::IsHandTrackingEnabled function.I made the function return false early and this fixed the crash, but I’m concern of this making Quest hand tracking not work.I was thinking that maybe there’s a solution that I’m missing.Thanks.

When implementing the instant runtime splash screen there is a problem with how the splash image is processed which causing the image to be overexposed on the Quest. The first image below is how it should look, the second is how it appears on the Quest. The problem seems to be that you can't save a PNG as an HDR image which means when the splash goes through the ASTC conversion the brightness levels, etc get messed up. It works fine for a black and white images (e.g. the oculus logo), but if you have a color image you'll get similar results. I think it has something to do with gamma vs linear color space. As a workaround I've switched to a black and white image, but if anyone has another solution I'd like to hear it How it should look (uncompressed)How it appears on the Quest

In the "Presence Platform: Build Mixed Reality with Insight SDK" presentation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST2ekJk9wJw) OVRPlugin.SpatialEntityAnchorCreateInfo. Why can't I find any documentation for that class anywhere? Am I looking the wrong places? I have searched oculus.com, docs.unity3d.com and google.com. Nothing comes up. Not even for OVRPlugin.

Working on a game in the App Lab in Unity for months and never had an issue before when  uploading to my Quest.Haven't changed/updated/whatever and now when I hit the OVR Build APK and RunIt builds the apk and gets up to Installing APK but then gives this error:OVRADBTool avc: denied { read } for scontext=u:r:system_server:s0 tcontext=u:object_r:sdcardfs:s0 tclass=file permissive=0 System server has no access to read file context u:object_r:sdcardfs:s0 (from path /sdcard/Oculus/Temp/launcher-debug.apk, context u:r:system_server:s0) Error: Unable to open file: /sdcard/Oculus/Temp/launcher-debug.apk Consider using a file under /data/local/tmp/ Error: Can't open file: /sdcard/Oculus/Temp/launcher-debug.apk Exception occurred while executing: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Error: Can't open file: /sdcard/Oculus/Temp/launcher-debug.apk at com.android.server.pm.PackageManagerShellCommand.setParamsSize(PackageManagerShellCommand.java:461) at com.android.server.pm.PackageManager

hi ...i tried to use URP 12.1.2 + Vulkan with unity 2021.2.5 but got completely black screen on Quest 2 [v33]!!any ideas?thanks.

The title says it.  In a "3D" project, to which I have added oculus XR settings, I delete both OVRGrabber and the rigid body from the left and right hands. Some piece of Oculus code, running who knows where, keeps putting a Rigidbody and OVRGrabber component on each of the hands. I've looked around a lot. I made sure I did NOT use the "VR" template when starting this project fresh. What code is adding the unwanted components? And how do I destroy it?

Hi, we're developing a few apps for the Oculus Quest, sideloading and running development builds used to work fine until this morning when we set up 2 new Oculus Quest headsets. Now when I try to run a sideloaded app, it tells me "Update in Progress Please Leave your device on, connected to Wi-Fi and plugged into a power source until the update is finished." Running store apps seem to work fine.Did anyone else encounter this issue?

Hello, I have just upgraded to version 31.0 of the Oculus integration for unity 2020.3.0f1. It looks like hand tracking isn't working with the OpenXR backend. It works fine with the legacy plugin though. Does anyone else have the same issue?

Hi,I have a quest 2 headset and I'm working with NATIVE samples, for example VrCubeWorld_SurfaceViewI dont want to use Unity or Unreal, just plain native platform,  So,  every time I make a change and want to test it I have to put on the headset and see the screen, etc  Is it possible to run the app in some android stuvio AVD device simulator, at least for test the graphical stuff (opengl)  Thanks!

Following this guide https://developer.oculus.com/blog/introducing-application-spacewarp/I am trying to use Application Spaceawarp (AS) in my project. From the guide it is unclear to my how you should exactly replace the URP pipeline. What I did (unsuccesfully): delete the current URP package from my projectplace the folder com.unity.render-pipelines.universal from that branch into my assets folder.  What happens is that I get compilation errors for scripts inside com.unity.render-pipelines.universal, it is missing a bunch of stuff. (for example: Assets/com.unity.render-pipelines.universal/ShaderLibrary/ShaderTypes.cs(5,10): error CS0246: The type or namespace name 'GenerateHLSLAttribute' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)) When I include the URP package from the package manager, I get the message that there are duplicates. (for eaxmple: Assembly with name 'Unity.RenderPipelines.Univers

Hello.I am a student developing content in Unity using oculus quest. When I build with oculus on Unity, the location of the app cannot be found unless I plug in a computer and a wire.Is it possible to run the app without connecting the wire by putting the extracted apk file directly into the oculus local file?I am currently using playerprefs to save the app data, but the data is not loaded even if I restart the app after closing it.So, I doubt that the data is not being loaded because it is not in the oculus local file.

how do we setup voip for unreal? Quest

As soon as I put down the controllers, they disable themselves almost instantly. How do I turn this off, or at least bump this value up to a reasonable time? This actually makes it very difficult to debug sometimes. Here is a video of the controllers turning off right away  ThanksJohn Lawrie
