Hello,I have a second-hand Meta Quest 2 that I cannot complete the initial setup with after a factory reset. The headset boots normally and displays the 5-digit pairing code, but pairing fails in the Meta Horizon app.I have tested this on:- Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra- iPhone- Windows 11 PC- Different Bluetooth/Wi-Fi attemptsThe headset itself appears to be working correctly at recovery level.Device Info shows:- Serial number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx- Model revision: Monterey (PVT Revision B SDC)- Boot slot: B- Secure Boot: Yes- Lock state: Locked- Build variant: User- RAM: 4068 MBADB also detects the same device correctly in Sideload Update mode:"xxxxxxxxxxxxxx sideload"However, I have two unusual problems:1. The official Meta Quest Software Update Tool detects the headset over USB, but then displays:“Your device is not supported.”2. When I try to verify the headset serial number on the Meta Support website, I get:“No product found. Check the info that you've entered and try again.”My Meta account

For a while, my quest 2 has been freezing when linked to my pc, while my pc shows that everything is working, with the game running, the movement tracking working, and I can still hear audio. I have seen other posts similar to my issue, but they all are unhelpful.I have had this issue ever since I got my headset, but not as bad as it is now. After I fixed my issue of my headset not updating and updated it to v206 from v81.xyz (I don't remember the exact number), my link cable stopped working, as my headset thinks it's a charging only cable. The cable is USB 3.0, and it worked perfectly before the update. Thankfully, my wifi is stable enough to use air link. Even though air link works, my headset screen freezes every few minutes. My meta horizon link thinks that my headset is still connected, even after I quit it from my quest. I have attempted to use the "restart meta horizon link," but the button does nothing. I can still use the app, and trying again doesn't work. I have to go to task
Hi everyone, I’m using a Meta Quest 3 and trying to cast the display to an external monitor that only has HDMI input. I’m currently using a Baseus Metal Gleam Type-C 6-in-1 hub (with HDMI output). Here’s the issue:- On the first boot, the headset casts to the monitor without problems.- But if I leave it idle and then power it back on, the monitor doesn’t get a signal.- To fix it, I have to unplug the HDMI cable from the hub, wait 15–20 seconds, and plug it back in.I know Meta recommends using a direct chain (USB-C → DisplayPort → Active DP→HDMI adapter → HDMI cable) for stable casting. But since I already have this Baseus hub, I’d like to know: Has anyone found a way to make HDMI casting via hubs more stable, without buying extra adapters or cables? Are there settings, power tricks (like always powering the hub via PD), or other workarounds that help keep the HDMI handshake consistent?Any tips or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
My quest 3S controllers keep fully disconnecting when they go out of the cameras view instead of just losing tracking. I tried factory resetting the headset, replacing the batteries, and unpairing/pairing the controllers again but nothing worked. It started happening while I was using it. Can someone help me find a fix??
After putting in new batteries, I found out that the right controller of my quest 3 lost its tracking. The meta button works, but not the tracking. The joystick doesn't work either in game. The left controller is fine. I found a video with a comment that confirms over 3 people had the same issue 3 months ago. Here is some more info.I came back after 3 days of not using my meta quest 3 headset. I found out that when I turned on my headset, the right controller didn't have a line in front of it, wasn't highlighted, and the battery didn't display on the top of the controller. The meta button still works, but the tracking doesn't. The left controller seems to be unharmed. I noticed while watching a video that other people seemed to be having the same problem 8 months ago. Here is the link if needed.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD43iDBomIM. I quote them "I'm having an issue where my right controller is connected, I can press on buttons and it works (like the meta one), It's full battery
I use a Meta Quest 3 for virtual visit with my student.I changed my computer for a Dell Pro Max 16 Plus in january 2026.Issue:Meta Quest Link first displays a message saying that my computer does not meet the new minimum specifications but it was working. Hi everyone,We recently identified an issue with Meta Quest Link unable to launch which caused users to be stuck in the app launch loading screen. We’ve now released an update that should resolve this problem. What’s changed: The main issue is fixed, and you should be able to use Meta Quest Link as expected. Please note: For now, you won’t be able to see your hands in Dash. However, raycasts are visible, and you should be able to interact with games and other content as usual. Thank you for your patience while we worked on this fix! If you continue to experience any issues, please let us know in the comments.
hi,I'm experiencing amassive performance issues with local network streaming since the recent Horizon OS v2.6 update (Build 5222268). Before this update, everything was running absolutely flawless. Now, playing high-bitrate 8K VR videos over a local 5GHz SMB share has become completely impossible. The videos stutter constantly and get stuck in endless buffering loops with 2 seconds of playback and 5 seconds of loading.Zero changes were made to PC, router, SMB shares, or network setup. The SMB connection itself still works and the 5GHz signal shows as perfect on the headset, but the throughput is extremely slow and throttled now. The exact same massive stuttering happens in both HereSphere and Skybox Player, and checking manually states the system is fully up to date.
As the title says, I am unable to pair my two controlles after I performed a Factory reset on my Quest 3.. Thus I'm unable to use it as I'm stuck in the pair controllers window.Ive tried:-New controller batteries-leaving the controllers with no battery for 15 minutes-Reset controllers (X+ menu 5 times on the left and A + Meta button 5 times on the right)-Restart the headset-Tried connecting it to my phone to pair the controllers b ut the phone no longer recognizes my Quest 3-Tried connecting the Quest 3 to my PC via USB, Quest 3 is recognized by windows, but the meta horizon app appears to not see it ( I click on "devices" then "add visor", then a window pops out explaining I can connect through usb cable or wifi, i connect it through usb cable, the pc sees it, click continue and nothing happens, window just closes and I'm back at the main menu).-I cant connect to wifi since Im unable to pass the pairing screen, unable to set wifi through the mobile app or through my pc too...Not sure
Ive got the above error message on the app devicesCan anyone help resove this? Thanks
My link app shows that it is connected. Tested the connection and confirmed that it is working but I am unable to launch any PCVR games. It is stuck on the page that shows the three dots.
I had to get a replacement Quest3 headset. I cannot pair because I believe that my old serial number is recorded on my mobile meta app. and that is all the app sees therefore it will not pair with my replacement headset. Please advise.
Hi everyone, I had some issues with my Quest after not using it for several time. And then I performed a factory reset. Now, the setup is running through the horizon app. It seems to work until the security screen (after selecting the language) and there it stops, because no "next" button is visible. First I thought: I must watch the video without skipping, but no button appears. Any idea, how I can advance from here? Greetings
My meta quest 3 gets stuck on the loading screen when starting a Link using the Link cable. I have tried restarting everything, reinstalling meta quest link and factory resetting the headset but nothing works. When i try Meta Quest Link sends me a notification saying "Meta Quest Link not working correctly"(translated). This was not the case before. I think it may have something to do with the update from november 24th.
I bought an Oculus Quest 1 from a friend. It's factory reset but I can't set it up, it's still linked to his Meta account, and neither of us can get it removed. Device: Oculus Quest 1, model MH-BSerial and account details available on request via DM.What happens:- Setup pairs, auto-detects the code, spins, then fails with "Couldn't pair with your headset". Tried iOS and Android, auto-detect and manual code entry, and an older Horizon app version.- During setup on the older Android app, it indicated the headset is still associated with an account.- The pairing code only shows in the headset for a split second. Why he can't remove it himself:- auth.meta.com shows "You must confirm your account to continue" with a "Continue with Facebook" button that is greyed out and unclickable. Not unresponsive — disabled.- He's tried multiple browsers, private windows, cleared cookies, disabled extensions, and logging into Facebook first in the same browser. Still disabled.- On my account th
I mirrored my Quest 3 to a self-powered portable monitor using a C-to-C cable that supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 (100W, 8K, 20Gbps, PD fast charging). The mirroring works fine, and the image displays properly on the monitor. However, I’m getting terrible ghosting inside the Quest 3 headset, making it unusable. When I keep my head completely still, there’s no ghosting. But as soon as I move my head around, severe ghosting/motion blur occurs and makes me dizzy. Is there a setting I can tweak to fix this issue? Or would upgrading to a higher-spec cable, like a 40Gbps one, solve the problem?
Ive been using Meta Quest Link without any issues for a few years, but it has suddenly stopped working completely.Whenever I try to connect, I receive the message "Meta Horizon Link isn't working correctly," followed by an infinite loading screen. Eventually, it says the headset has disconnected, even though the USB cable remains connected the entire time.I've spent hours troubleshooting and have not been able to fix it.As a workaround, I tried using ALVR over a USB cable instead of Wi-Fi. Although it technically works, the image is extremely blurry and gives me a headache regardless of the settings I use, so it is not a viable replacement for Meta Link.PC specification: AMD Radeon RX 6800S GPU.Has anyone else experienced this recently? Could this be related to a recent Meta update, and has anyone found a working fix?
The 4 profile photos show up when I put on my Meta Quest 3 but the Account and Profile Menu doesn’t come up when I click on a profile photo. I just see my living room though my Meta Quest 3. How do I get the Account and Profile Menu to show up again? 🤔 Thank you Zack
I just factory reset my vr due to a game bug which i though required the proccess but turned out to be just the games servers being down, anywho after i factory reset when i tried to pair my vr back to the same meta horizon app that i used prior it diddn't allow me to, only showing me the prompt to either try again (which did nothing) or to give up, essientally BRICKING my headset until the issue is resolved.
After the latest Quest 3 update (7/27/26) I've been unable to play any PCVR games via SteamVR or Virtual Desktop. Here's what's happening:- Start Virtual Desktop or Quest Air Link- Click the "Launch steam VR" button- Instead of showing Steam VR as usual, it just shows me my room (passthrough)- On the PC monitor you can see the actual game in VR, the headset tracks correctly and everything seems fine, but inside the headset there's nothing but the passthrough.- This also happens even if some environment is selected instead of passthrough. The same happens with MSFS2024 when I click to switch to VR. Normally it would fade to black and then switch to VR, now it fades to black and then shows me my room on passthrough. I can hear the audio from the game still playing but nothing is on screen.Essentially, I can interact and see everything in Virtual Desktop in 2D, but as soon as I switch to VR in any application it goes to the passthrough view instead of VR.
I have a VR headset (meta quest 2) that I simply reset, and now I can't use it because I only have one controller.
Hey there,I still have a Rift S that I used regularly for several years without any major issues. I had not used it for a while, but today I got the itch to dive back into VR.First, I had to update the software to the Meta Horizon Link app, which I completed successfully. However, my Rift S now refuses to connect via USB.I have tried all the troubleshooting steps suggested by the AI assistant, but nothing has worked. At this point, I am concerned that one of the recent software updates may have caused the issue.I also tried to contact a human support agent, but I have not been able to get through. The support page repeatedly asks me to enter my device’s serial number, but I always receive the following error:“No product found. Check the information you entered and try again.”This happens even when I copy and paste the serial number directly from the Meta Horizon Link app.Is there another way to contact Meta Support or speak to a human representative? Has anyone else experienced the sam
